Orion 5000 and 4800 lipo polarity
With all the discussion on the Orion 5000 mAh, platinum two and the reversal of the polarities. Regardless of which side the polarity is on, you should always check which one you are connecting. This is common sense.
For those who already own the 4800 and are buying the newer 5000, it is wise to know which side the polarity are. If you want to prevent errors, make yourself a dymo label (www.dymo.com) and attach it to the top plate.
With this size battery, you shouldn't be in a rush to begin with. If you can't top it off between races you will still have voltage to run if you run the stock 13.5, 17.5 and even 10.5 (depends on your driving style).
my 2 cents

Then you do have to resolder the connections because otherwise they do not reach the holes in the casing.
Then put a lable on the pack with the right polarity and its fixed.
This ways the 5000 Mah pack has the same layout as the 4800 Mah pack and most other packs on the market.

I have 3 type-r's now, 1 i run only in stock (13.5) and one i run in 10.5/open mod and one i plan to run in foam. I have almost no time during the week to do stuff so i have to be able to take it out of my box and hit the track race weekends . I love this car because of that. I have very little maintenance to do unless i smack something pretty hard.
