so i ran my car with lipo's today for the first time. i went with the orion 3200's, novak 13.5 w/ standard rotor, geared at 4.5, and no extra weight added.

at first my car pushed like crazy, but i softened up the car all around 35wt oil, 12.5lb springs in front, 10lb springs in the rear, and it was planted.

Yeah your car was just as fast as Terry's 10.5! Your car looked like it was on rails

I went to run my car, and my servo was tweaking out, and everyone thought it was my RX, but it was my S9550 fut servo... Im mad

I wanted to run with all you guys

Default Servo Saver

Hi All

Whats the best way to set up the servo saver?

Over the last few weeks i seem to have difficulty in setting up, if its not screw down enough the servo horn returns slowly but if it's up to tight it strips the plastic gear in my KO 2123 servo

Anyone else had this problem?

The way I normally set mine up is I hold the servo arm and back the nut off till I can get about 1/2 to 3/4 wheel lock out of the saver.

I also had this problem but since I started setting it up this way I have had no problems.

Also u may want to try running either a futaba 9451 or a bls451. No fet wire and seem to be holding up really good.

Ya guys... follow what Ronnie G posted there.

I'll admit I toasted a few servos. I've been threw a JR8417, JR8450, and 2 Futaba 9550s. All those servos have plastic idler gears. When I ran a JR8800s, it was fine because it has a metal idler. I now use the Futaba BLS451 and haven't had any trouble with that either.

Keep in mind, the Type R has a very unique servo linkage. It only takes about 60% of the servo's total throw to get full lock in the car. Because of that, wall shots with the wheels turned are a little more amplified through the linkage. Running the servo saver looser than what the book tells you will help and it won't hurt much in steering response. It will still center fine too.

I personally run my servo saver as tight as it goes, but that's just me.

I run this same servo and actually run the saver like Schreff with no issues at all to this point. I stripped the gear once, but I broke other stuff in the process.

I run the saver pretty snug in my car also, basically it will give just a little bit when you try to turn the wheel by hand while the car is on...knock on wood i havn't broken a servo yet, been using a jr8800s since i got the car.

Cheers All with your responses

The servo saver itself seems a bit sensitive, one adjustment the servo saver is loose in responding do another minor adjustment and its lock up then breaks my servo so i'm kinda thinking of putting in a lesser tension spring in, to try to overide this problem

I noticed with the servo saver its also very hard to wind down due to the spring having so much tension
