I was trying to make the outer hinge pin more strong as to help during impact. The aluminum is fairly soft so if it is a big crash it should have some give to it. The delema is to beef up the outer pin but not so much as it will rip the pin mounts out of the chassis under hard impact. Even with mounting the shock on the outside of this bracket it seemed to clear rubber and foams with all three sizes of hex's.

Personally, I don't think we need this stuff on the cars - the arms are not that weak. Run a parma bumper and limit hitting stuff. I had some hard hits this weekend and it was only a full speed hit that eventually broke a rear arm. With that kind of hit, any-car would have broke.
This car handles too well - farting around with the suspension in anyway by adding supports will make this car act weird and take away from the awesome performance IMO.

The R that I saw at NorCal Hobbies yesterday had the front and rear axles sticking way, way out beyond the axle nuts. That's gotta be an arm killer. Trim em pups!

I did break a arm in practice at the race. It was a full speed hit that would have broke any car. My car had a wide one-way with the short bones. We put a set of short arms on my other car and it was unreal to drive. I have never drove a one-way rubber car that felt that awesome. I wish I would have put my race batteries and motor in it to see what times I could have turned. The couple of people that drove it could not believe it.
