I switched to the Platinum LiPo from the Carbon to do some testing, and wow, it's a really good fit! The rear bulkheads seem like they were intentionally squared off to handle the size of this battery perfectly.
It's good to see these design considerations being added to cars (Type-R, Mi3), not only because I hope for a LiPo-friendly future, but because it helps settle on a "standard" size for the use of LiPo, intentional or not. With cars being designed specifically to handle this size pack, it makes perfect sense for other companies to follow their lead (with the hard case, dammit) and build cases to the same dimensions. That could lead (hopefully) to other manufacturers creating optional chassis that have a rectangle milled into them to fit the LiPo packs rather than try and shoehorn something into the slots cut for NiMH. If there's a standard (spoken or otherwise) size, it makes those kinds of optional parts more reasonable to produce. Anybody releasing a LiPo pack now would almost definitely want to make it the same size as Orion's pack. A standard size has been one of the barriers of acceptance, and it's good to see at least that one slowly fading away.

what's the oil? spring? that came with the kit?
