Does the T2r come with outdrive rings to keep them from
speading under load? Or can I purchase them from Xray?

It does not come with rings in the kit.
My limited time with them suggests they aren't needed.

Yeah, use the Xray shocks and nothing else! 
Take your time building them and if you have questions post them in the T2 section thread and someone will reply. Take your time building the diffs and follow the instructions carefully. You might want to prep the chassis edges by sanding them a bit and rounding the edges if you run on carpet. Sand them and CA the sides and you'll have a nice finsh if you do it right. You also want to file the battery slots in so your cells fit nice and snug. Setups are online at http://www.teamxray.com under the setup section. Hope that helps.

Tips..
One thing I noticed the diff covers don't come on a parts tree but they have little bits of plastic that need to be sanded off or they will catch on the chassis and bind the belts.
If you have old or plan on buying new electronics buy the smallest stuff!! chassis space is nonexistant on this car!
also read and read and read the setup manual that comes with the car..
its seperate from the building manual...
I will post more as they come to me..

I second the setup book. READ IT! It explains everything about the car and what this does and that does. Xray has done many, many hours of testing and the book explains what they found while testing. If you follow the book, I'm sure you'll get the car setup right the first time out.
