Anyone know if this will come with an Aluminum chassis for carpet? Based on the price at Tower probably not.

No it will not come with an aluminum chassis. I believe the engineer said an aluminum chassis will be released later.

I can see it coming with both chassis as a TRF421(X) or (R) or as a hop-up option. Still waiting for one for the Evo 8 as well.

Tamiya did a live stream earlier today going through the history of TRF cars and presenting the TRF421:

Is there a machine manual?
I would like to see it before pre-ordering

I wouldn't expect there to be a manual before the release of the kit itself, that's something Tamiya rarely – or ever – does. The official release date has yet to be announced, but dealers here in Germany expect it to be around late May. Is there any specific information you're looking for?

The video link posted earlier does show a lot of up close shots. You can kind of see how it will be assembled. It looks pretty standard affair to the current crop of cars.

I agree, they even showed the most unique feature imho (the spur gear assembly) in a lot of detail. If you have any experience with recent Tamiya competition kits, building it won't be much different. Setup will be very similar to other current top touring car kits as you mentioned.

Anyone planning on purchasing one? If so, what class are you planning on running it in? Curious......

Putting the wheel nuts on backwards so they don't mar the hexes is such a nice touch lol

I hadn’t noticed that part 😂. That would be really annoying getting those on and off that way
