We should see a release very soon. Or does anybody here have it already?

Tower told me a shipment at end of April and one in May. But still have not received mines.

It seems he was running X-ray or axon springs on his car?

I've notice in the article this: "Below a first look into the new TRF USBB dampers, showing the new upper seals which now sits recessed in the damper body."
This is quite unusual isn't it? A feature to keep long shocks body and +20mm springs? Or maybe to improve the sealing of the damper and it build?

And many thanks for the translation Kentech.

Probably just the same shock bladder design as the Mugen and Schumacher.

Most brands these days have moved to that style of bladder.

Who else is doing 'upper seal recessed in the body'? Most have a similar looking bladder, but the seal is still sandwiched between the threads above the top of the body and the cap?

I'm looking forward to detailed build pics and manual for this car to get a better look at the fine details....

Mugen, Xray, Schumacher, ARC all use recessed bladders on their latest cars. Yokomo/Axon do not. Not sure about other brands.

Tamiya is only 4 years late to the party with recessed bladder.

and your tt02 can keep up with most modern cars. So how important is it to have shocks with recessed bladders?

Two german RC stores collaborated and have uploaded an unboxing video yesterday (video is in German and the camera is unfortunately positioned very far away):
https://youtu.be/rh4ZrBHMIE4?si=LiqqZavVieU0myvS

Not that much new information in there, a couple of notes:
  • They discuss that it would be possible to replace the upper suspension arms with multiple links (like f.e. Awesomatix)
  • Caster seems to be a variable adjustment, the markings are there to set specific angles
  • Internal gear ratio is confirmed to not have changed (still 1.85)
  • Ball bearings have rubber sealings not teflon
  • 22086 titanium turnbuckles are included and used for upper arm camber links
  • They think the release will most likely be in early June

Another german store has all the specific spares listed and on sale from what appears to be a disassembled kit. So either dealers got an early sample or they already have stock but Tamiya is enforcing a release date. (unlikely, see below)

Edit: One person seen in the video, Dai Sakaguchi has uploaded a scan of the manual. He also says he will fulfill orders as soon as he gets the kits.
