Tamiya MB-01

Nerobro don’t be so harsh on my beloved M06.. I love that peanut brittle of a chassis.. only took me a decade to get a solid win from it at TCS 😉
I ordered the BB01 for now. For time being I’m more interested in adding a fresh Fiat 1000 TCR to my body stash than the MB01. With no consistent track, no m chassis races, best to spend my RC crack money on other things.

Mikanews on Youtube have a very nice presentation of the MB-01 chassis and in that video (@ approx. 5.53min in the video) small glimpse of the manual covering wheelbase and diff:

If that gearcase will be available without bunch of other parts (MB-01 parts include gearbox/transmission part tree) and fits TT-02/XV-02 diff.. that could be very interesting for custom builds 😁 But it seems a bit overcomplicated to have extra gearcase just to reverse direction, when same effect could be achieved by flipping the diff.

All three layouts of the MB-01 in one image.

Gents, I haven't been in M before but tempted to try. How would you comment the FWD and the RWD? I heard the M05 mid-front motor FWD was and is immensely popular for its handling, and M08 mid-rear RWD is tricky (I might like it :-)).

FWD has better brakes, it's more forgiving, but it has poor acceleration.
RWD has more acceleration and can be quicker, but it's much more sensitive to throttle and brakes which makes it harder to drive consistently.

Manual is available online at:

Direct linking the PDF itself doesn't seem to work unfortunately, the CDN just serves an empty document.

Definitely a "TT01/TT02"ized mini. Interesting new friction shock design.

No, I have enough Tamiya money pits as we speak.
