Glad to see a rule set. Minimum weight is kind of disappointing. That low means guys spending money on light weight parts. In running this class and teching at a 750 min weight, I saw very little ballast being added to get the car there. Seek out those light weight batteries folks.

Yeah, 730 is going to be tough to hit with most aluminum chassis cars. My xray 23 barely made it down to 750. I think the CRC cars are able to make it as my son runs one and stock it's pretty light.

I let them know on facebook. I would recommend you contact them as well. You might have a bit more weight than I do.

On two scales, I checked the weight of my aluminum chassis X12 '22 and it was 713 grams with SJT tires, USGT motor, Hobbywing XR10 Stock Spec 1s ESC, Gens Redline 1s battery, futaba receiver and servo. It even has 5 grams of balance weight and a transponder. Now the body that I got (SuperRad SR-04) is 44 grams which is AWESOME that its illegal by 1 gram.

Aren't you allowed to add weight to the body like in USGT?

So, is the min tire diameter for manufacturing, or you can't run a tire that is less than 40.5mm?

Not sure. I am assuming this doesn't apply to the SJTs or it's the manufacturing. SJT fronts are trued to 40.5 in manufacturing.

Could you measure the height of you car with the supperrad? I am curious. I don't have one.

So your car is 713 without the body? With a 45g body that's 758. Long way from 730 total. But that is what I was seeing when teching. Some guys had a little weight on their graphite cars to get to a total of 750. My current CRC-AR with side rails is 755 with no ballast and a 50g body. Roof height rule kind of kills the Super Rad as far as looks. When mounted at 70 roof height the tires are far from on center of the wheel arches. I call it the anti Super Rad rule. It really looks great at around 66 roof height. But a few manufacturers didn't like that approved body (he sent it to the guys in Florida and a Midwest series guy who approved it) before making a bunch. Now he will have to change it to make it look right.

Paint and stickers should get you to 45 grams.

I read "chassis" as everything minus the body. All throughout the rule book they have distinguishing language between body and chassis. Is that not correct?
For the body, you are correct, I will throw another coat of paint somewhere to help the weight. I thought of that just after I typed my previous comment.

Looks like the superrad (as I have it mounted) is ~67mm from the bottom of the chassis.

Agree with you completely. 1 bad lap in this class can permently take you out of contention. Consistency is the name of the game in this class. I can't wait to give my Gear diff another try now that I was able to get the special screw to put it back together.

The weight limit is 730g for "Complete Vehicle" and 45g for "Body". Not sure where you saw 730g for "chassis".
