Is 16ga wire sufficient for a Sphere Competition (non 2007) with a Novak 4300 motor in 4-cell oval?

The longest battery lead is the width of a 4 cell pack, and the motor leads are 5" or so.

thanks

@RFrancis: Ronald ran settings 2-5-0-0 in TC-Spec and geared X11 4.5t at ~8.5:1 at RCS track in Thailand, he was clearly the guy with most power in the A-main...

As for temps: please use the Internal-TempCheck-System to readout speedo temperature after the run, just measuring the heatsink temp will not mean much! Motor with sintered magnets should not reach more then 90°C and with bonded 75°C, measured on can.

@flodo: 16ga is fine for your use.

Hi I picked up a 2007 Edition today.
Can some one tell me what the single smal blue wire hanging out where the switch comes out of the main case is?
I don't see mention of it in the instalation manual.
Thanks in advance.

@burito:
I'm to race the Norwegian champs the upcoming weekend with a brand new LRP Brushless System. The new 2007 ESC and a X.11 4,5 turn.

We are using 6 cells i Norway.

The carpet is 20*30 meters. Longest straight is 30 meters.

Can you pleace give me an advice on how to gear the motor and which setup to use on the ESC.

What is the quickest Sphere Comp 2007 and X11 motor combo? Is the 4.5t the fastest that LRP do at the moment and how does it compare to a Novak 3.5R performance wise?

Also, how are the brakes from top speed in a TC.....?

refer to the comments/settings from DHI-Cup earlier in this thread and simply gear 2-3 teeth lower since DHI was with 5 cells only.

4.5t is fastest right now, but 3.5t (50711) is going to be sent to distributers now as well!
Don't understand your 2nd question, sorry.

What did he steal from you? I didn't see any special clone tools he had... but I can ask him.

Hello,
I will want to know the final ratio for my X11 5.5.
here my configuration:
hotbodies cyclone
speedo Lrp Sphere Competition ed 2007
IB4200 5 cells
tires vtec 30r
small track 25x15

I tested 108/29 > 9.08 final ratio, but that heats enormously, I unsoldered wire on the variator.

thank you

According the X11 instruction 5.5t gear ratio is 9.5-10.5, 4.5t 7.8-8.8, may be 10.5 suitable for small track.

I did not know with the notice of X11 if the ratios are for 6 cells or 5?

All X11 gearing recommendations in the manuals are for 6 cells, if you run 5-cells you need to gear like 2-3 teeth higher.

Don't understand your 2nd question, sorry.

I meant how are the brakes on the system in a touring car from top speed? My experience of brushless so far is that the momentum the car has and the lack of the mechanical braking (like from a brushed motor) means the brakes are poor and the car coasts even on full brake from top speed - low speed is ok.
