Bearings are not problem, 5x10x3 for ae block (6x10x3 for ae shaft),
BD has 5x10

Problem is with length ...

Anyway, 40$ are not big money compared to cyclone tc axles (1 = 33$)

In the "TC6 or T3'2011" Thread some guys say the TC5 has weak plastic-parts that break every time touching a wall/obstacle/other car.
My experience is total different. First of all I break mainly C-Hubs. Once after a real hard impact (with maybe 50km/h) I destroyed one rear hub. So its only hubs... For two seasons! I bought other suspension parts to be prepared, but never needed them. I am also not a driver who makes no mistakes. Hitting the walls often happens. Additionally I am using motors between 9,5t and 3,0t.

So how is your experience with plastic parts?

By the way I am using not the hard parts. Maybe this problem occurs with the hard parts only?

No car is bulletproof. Hit walls hard and often enough, things are going to break. All manufacturers make replacement parts for their cars, so it's not like any of them guarantee their cars not to break. Associated is no more break-prone than any other car.

I've had mixed results with breakages. Using the Parma bumper and Integy Aluminum knuckles has reduced my breakages a lot. Don't use the Aluminum C hubs from Integy. They have way too much slop. My TC5r has survived some pretty big hits yet other times seemingly a small hit has broken a C hub. I don't think its a problem with the parts, just depends on the angle of the hit I think. Right now I've managed to bend my rear bulkhead (on the motor side) from what appears to be a tumble where I launched a few feet in the air and then slammed backwards into a wall. Really can't blame the parts for this sort of damage tho as crashing a 4lb car at 60km/h is a hell of a lot of force.

I've seen other brand cars break just as easily/strangely including Xrays. The Xray T3 has a great habit of popping out the steering post depending on the hit.

I broke a lot of caster blocks and a small number of arms. That being said, I'm a beginner and most of those were high speed collisions. The durability of the pieces seems pretty reasonable to me.

I use the hard parts and the most of the stuff I have broken has been wheels. I've done two rear hubs, and a shock tower (I got hit in the rear quite hard) and that has been about it.
So no complaints from myself.

I have had nothing break at all on me yet and coped pretty hard hits from guys that dont know how to drive..... We run on a small indoor track here and its painted concrete so its kinda slippery but no excuse... Ppl with all the horsepower in the world and they say I have this and that and they crash more then they do laps..... But anyway haha

1 mistake I made and I dont know if anyone else has done it but I out the diffs in back to front and the belts followed.... All my car did all night was turned right on acceleration. Once it was going quick enough it didnt do anything but go straight but out of corners and accelerating hard it would turn right hard.... Just so you know put the front diff in with the belt running down the left side of the car looking from the back of the car.... Other wise you will have the same problem I did..

Has anyone fitted a Savox SC1258TG servo to a TC5? There is very little clearance between the Hitec currently fitted and the front bulkhead so I want to make sure the Savox fits befoe I order one.
Thanks
Tim

I just put a savox low profile in my TC5 yesterday and it fit with no problem. Worked great all day today in running.

Same here, the low profile one fits and works well. I've raced it twice with no problems. It's a good deal too!
