Plus 64 dp gives you a more direct feeling while driving. That's because you've got around 1,5 times more teeth on your gears than when you use 48dp. This means throttle and brake will be more directive because it can transfer the movement sooner. Downside is that 64dp is more likely to damage when something comes between your spur and pinion.
the best example was the 2003 Kawasaki ZX6R ZXRR. there was a 1.4 mm difference is stroke and a magazine guy attributed the RRs better turn in to reduce crankshaft enertia. well it was the same blank offset ground, same mass. I rode both and I new the chassis specs were the different (I couldn't feel that either). He was pulling it out his arse trying to sound smart.
Not that you are doing the same but I know I wouldn't "feel" the difference. I am just trying not to hit the boards right now.
I know I would hear the difference though. I hear the 1/8th scale electric with 32 pitch and they sound a box of bolts going by.

if u gona run rubber go for the TC5R
with the R you get updated belts ( much smoother then stock TC5 ), new diff cam holders, aluminium diff outdrives ( tc5 has plastic ) and ITF chassis plates which make the car easier to drive.
Actualy YOU have the option to build it as a limited slip spool or a diff, all parts are included.

Thanks for the comments!
I have a used early 2.5 chassis I haven't even driven yet. I'm setting it up for VTA on carpet & trying to decide if I want to blow the money on the new chassis plates. I put the rubber setup on it & I'll see how that does. I have spent enough on getting to this point & I still need the 21.5 motor yet. lol

When running on carpet with rubber tires the local hot shoes are running the ITF chassis pieces with the hard suspension pieces as that fits the high bite condition.
If you are running foam on carpet then the 5F kit is the one to go with.
If I remember correctly, I found it less expensive to buy the 5R kit and then add the hard suspension pieces. I started with the Caster blocks and then knuckles and then arms.
If you are running low to medium bite traction on carpet with rubber tires you won't have any problems getting the 5R to work.
Unless you are a Pro and can notice a slight change it won't matter which one you get. Just go the track and have some fun.

Hey guys, I coming from nitro (MTX4R) so forgive me for the stupid questions. I just built a FT TC5 kit and I'm ordering the oneway and spring kit. Are there any other parts that I need for spares or must have upgrades? I plan on running on carpet (170 X 40) with either foam or rubber. My system MM 5700 on 2S. Is there a diff upgrade for the rear?
