Hey guys, I need some help here, I just accommodated a FT TC5R brand new in the box. I was puting the diffs togather and found the screw is too short. I have compressed the spring with vise grips then heat heating it up with the torch. Still can't get it to go. I ended up breaking the ears offtrying too press down on it with a screw driver. Any suggestions.

This may sound obvious but make sure your nylock nut is seated all the way down in the opposing diff half.

These are quite snug and sometimes take a little persuading to seat all the way in.

is this too stupid a question? I am guessing at the answer with a used car.

It is only a stupid question if...I always pushed down on my car and then measure ride height.

Is a spool recommended for a small tight track or would a diff be a better choice?

If you are running on tarmac with rubber tires, then a spool is better most of the time.

Then try a spool for sure...also try #3 roll-center holders, 3.5 deg rear toe(all inboard toe) and soft suspension parts, with the ITF chassis and topdeck. What kit did you buy? TC5R?

I tell u what I am beginning to hate this TC5R, first it was the diff issue, then one of the turnbuckles for the steering wasn't threaded right, and now the steering bellcrank rod that bolts to the bottom of the chassis wasn't even drilled or tapped. Its sad its a brand new kit. I should've bought a Shuey.

Which helps the turn in the most? I just got back and it was incredible! The only issue I had was a bit of push when entering from high speed dive ins...if I broke, then drove through it didnt happen but im more of a diver...

The Tamiya blue anodized .5mm and 1mm axle spacers we use are part number 53646 or OP646. They go outside the hex.
