Hi, I just orderd the TC5R-314.99 at highvelocity.com with 10% discount. Is that a good deal?
Can somebody please tell me what is a good pinion to start with on the stock tc5r-48 pitch 87T spur. I will be running a Mamba Max 7700 with Maxamps 2s 6000mah lipos on the tc5r.
Thanks!

Thanks guys. Any more advice or tips that I should know before I start to race it?

I raced my TC5 last night with a 22 tooth pinion and stock spur and it wasn't too hot. I only ran for 5 minute runs though. I wasn't pushing it at all and the car felt perfect, so much grip it was funny.

Ok, I have seen a few posts of guys looking for a good setup for rubber on carpet.
Start with the new stock setup that comes with the TC5R.
Blue spring and 40 wt all around. Disconect the sway bars. Mount some 24s threw 32s and a rubber body and fine tune to your liking. Tires make a big diffrents so you need to find what works at your track. You can go 45wt and gold spring in front if you dont like that much steering. I have the diff in the frt with this setup. Havnt tried the spool or one way yet. Might only be needed in stock but not sure.
I have the foam chasis on mine with that setup and works pretty good.
Some guys have posted that there tc5 is lose, silver spring frt and green rear. The rest is the same. If it rolls too much then hook up the sway bars.
Rear wing on body is very sensitive on this car. An 1/8 inch in hight is fine tune and move it foward or back is a huge change !!!!
Hope this helps.

Hey guys for the steering, when turned all the way I noticed the hub hits the swaybar mounting plastic. Does that mean I have to change my droop setting ? or just adjust the servo via the trim on the transmitter to limit full lock ?

My local track layed down fresh carpet. Need less to say, it is very green. I tried a set of 28's today and it was glued !! Could drive it in or even throw it in to the corner and it would just rotate and take off. I think the oil might be a touch too soft for the springs, it wants to sqaure off the corner instead of a smooth arc around the corner. Might try 45 or 50wt to see how slugish it gets. It does rip threw chacains though !!
Once the bite comes up it will roll more and its rolling a bit too much for me now. Think Im gonna try sway bars to flaten it out in the corners and thicker oil to round the corners off a little. Guess if the bite comes up to the point of being too stuck I can slap a set of 32's back on there.
This is really just the last 5% type thing and could throw it on the track now and do pretty good. Very nice balance of steering and traction. I think thats the best thing about this car. A spring and/or small oil change is all thats needed to get it dialed into a new track. You get that close and it has an awsome balance.

If you're asking about on track performance.............the losi pistons seemed to let the car transfer weight a little better.

How is the hard cased lipo such as trak power or reedy insalled so it doesnt fall out. I can see the orions working because of the bottom is contoured like a 6 cell pack?

With this LIPO weight it prevents the LIPO from moving side to side.
