Default Fastest car types?

I’m a real newbie to on-road... I am wondering what are the fastest and slowest car types around an average track?

I.e. Pan, F1, TC etc.

Particularly interested in some 2WD vs. 4WD discussion.

Chassis alone fastest to slowest, in general 4wd TC, FWD TC, pan car, then F1. In low traction, pan cars and F1 are considerably slower.

The fastest cars I have seen were 235mm 2s pan cars. At a major race, the were a second faster, per lap, then a mod TC. I think the slowest class is 21.5 1/12 scale.

Fastest would be 1/8 Circuit. Nitro or 6S electric are probably similar.

Fastest 1/10th would be a Pro10. 235mm, foam tyres, open motor.

Slowest would be the modern F1 cars. Narrow, with crap rubber tyres, slow motors, it would be hard to design something slower.

Didnt we have this same thread somewhere else? We just discussed this, did a Mod remove your thread??? It was TC related....

1/8IC or Brushless, unless its a short Track, then Pro10 will even mop the floor with the 1:8, we have been there and done that in the 90's and recently @ AMSC Augsburg & MBC Bamberg e.V. otherwise on Carpet, its 1:12 all day every day! If you want a fast F1, 200mm foam all day, like we run in Europe and in Japan, TC id say is faster than F1, slower than Pro10 all day unless grip is low for foams, or it starts raining...

Qual pole results from a recent race :

36 laps = GT12 rubber
32 laps = Can Am TC stock
31 laps = F1
30 laps = Can Am FWD TC 21.5
30 laps = USGT
29 laps = VTA

On our outdoor asphalt low to medium grip track, pan cars are generally faster than TC. FWD TC are miles behind.

1/8 scale nitro and electric cars on foam tires are crazy fast. Way way faster than 1/10 scale mod Touring cars. I use to think mod touring cars were fast until I went to steel city raceway in Fontana last week. I was doing 21 second lap times with my 2020 X-ray t4 with a 4.5t motor and the 1/8 scale cars were doing like 15 second lap times.

Kind of surprising, we race on a tight low traction concrete track with 21.5 motors on both F1 and FWD, with F1s struggling for traction especially in the cold. Pretty much can't run without shimizu tyres on a cold day, anything else is undrivable. Pancars are ?? because we don't run them regularly, but they were 0.5s per lap faster than F1

Pro ten needs a smooth track. The amount of ripples and bumps that the 1/8th scale cars can soak up is amazing. There was a group around here that raced in different cities mall parking lots. Hopefully they still exist.
