Thanks again. I will be running 48p (all my pinions are 48p!) so was hoping it wasn't 64p. Nevermind, I'm guessing it's easy enough to change the spur gear?

Hopefully I'll be able to race it this weekend.

What is the reasoning behind running 48 pitch ??? is just for reliability in mod ??

48 pitch the gear mesh is a lot less critical, and if you are running on a dirty track you will have far less issues with damaged gears. On our shitty tracks, 64 pitch can pick up anything as small as sand and cause a lot of damage.

Most cars i have ran 48 pitch, but i am trying to use 64 pitch so far with the TOP, in an effort to get a smaller jump in rollout, as runtime is quite an issue with the change to 5 cell mod.

Well said. The life span of a 48p spur is good and less worries especially during a race. I believe every racer has a favorite spur no and for final adjustments, could be same spur or add/less 1 spur size.

Actually no point trying too many sizes when the space between center drive to the bottom deck spur opening is already fixed and therefor limit the size of spurs. As for run time,it will depend much on the driving style.

Thought as much it was for reliability.
64 works for me as our tracks are prepped and sugared.
also smaller gearing adjustments is better and defiantely better for mod.

Nice. Where did you order it from? Don't forget to post some pics of it when it does and has the new Red Bull paint on it to.

Questions??

What screws do you guys use on this car as I found that when I built my chassis the flat heads didnt sit flush as if the holes are not big enough for them to sit in.

And what seems to be the best between high traction arms and carbon arms, I only ask as I dont have time to go testing before my next big race?

Any help will be great

Cheers

James

I never had this problem.Make sure you got all the screws length correct and add a drop of CA for plastic and Locktip for alloy if you wanna be safe.
We use 60% titanium and the rest is metal.

I just checked my chassis and I can see what you mean. The screws are not perfectly flush with the chassis. It's never affected the way the car drives and the bumpers are lower than the chassis as it is.

The screw edges are rounded so there is not a large flat area clamping down like other screws.
Dont worry they tight enough though
I am using titanium screws all on the top of the car and steel underneath.
