I was looking to find a 18 Xray just because I’ve never had an X-ray but also don’t want to get something notoriously fragile or ridiculously complex.

The xray is a great choice, its usually a front running chassis with pretty good durability. The only con is that the price tag is a bit high, but you are essentially getting a car with the hop ups you need to get rolling with great durability. All cars will break down in hard crashes, but in light to medium crashes, xray will keep going even with a bent or loose part. Tamiya on the other hand is notorious for break downs with little chance of finishing a race with damage, though it is by far one of the most lightweight chassis

Its also highly recomended to have a carbon chassis for asphalt and an aluminum chassis for carpet. I personally had just 1 car for both types, but now I have chosen to go with 2 complete cars to spend less time making chassis changes. Its a bit more expensive, but saves me time I would spend wrenching one car...though in total I have 4 F1 cars. 2 retired on the trophy shelf and 2 active racing

You can make it work, but it helps with traction roll if you have an aluminum chassis which is heavier

A little bit of a shake up mid field, but it looks pretty locked in for the Top 3. Anything can happen at the final round though...

TPhalen 04-27-2019 04:01 PM

Hey everyone - Round 7 of the UF1 Series is tomorrow! Gates open at 8am, track open at 9am. We will be pitting on the upper concrete deck, so make sure you get there early to get your spot.

Fun layout - has a certain United Stated GP feel to it! Excited to see how it goes!

We will also be having a raffle - motors and battery from Reedy, tire sets from ActivRC, body and wing sets from Pro-Line, track coupons from TQ RC Racing as well as some onroad goodies from 1up Racing and Exotek! Everyone will get one ticket with their entry - more tickets will be available for purchase.

See everyone tomorrow!

We haven't set any dates yet, but looking at starting the next one in August. We've got a few changes to make (simply stuff) that will help everyone that attends,

Make sure you go to the website (http://www.uf1rc.com) and join the mailing list to keep up to date.
