Sorry guys - I suck. Did the Round 4 write up but never published it. Went to work on the rules for next season and found it sitting there, on the site, in Draft mode.
Anyway, here's the link to it. Thanks. Race Recap: UF1 2018 Winter Series 2018 ? Race 4 ? Canadian GP | UF1 RC |

So it looks like we might have some rain again Sunday - 40-50% chance. Clouds forming early, showers in the afternoon.
I've put a poll up on the UF1 FB page: https://www.facebook.com/uf1rc/. Options are simple: 1. Show up, risk it and see how it goes. 2. Reschedule - again. Not optimum, but this keeps the playing field fair as far as carpet vs asphalt venues. 3. Move the race to TQ. This will give the series advantage to the carpet folk. Very sorry - just a very wet winter here in SoCal - definitely not the norm. It's usually cold but not wet. I need to know ASAP so if the vote is to move to TQ, I need to schedule it with Sean. He says he's open at the moment if we need to switch venues. |

RE-Schedule---I was planning on making it down from Paso Robles---but with the rain a definite possibility--I'd rather try for another date!

As posted on FB:
Ok everyone, here's what's happening this weekend with Round 5 of the 2018 Winter Series. We are racing Sunday at TQ RC Racing. Doors open at 8am, racing starts at 10am. There are a LOT of variables when stuff like this comes up, but we will still be running the same amount of races at both tracks, just mixing up the order in which we run them. Reasons: 1.The schedule is set at the beginning of the series. People plan for those dates and, if for some reason the dates change mid-season (ie because of rain), that could potentially cause some racers to miss the event which, in my opinion, isn't fair if we actually have an alternative venue to race at on the same day. Moving venues ensures everyone that planned for a race can still make it. 2.Even though we are moving to TQ, we are keeping the last two races at Cal. Since it's a point series, I think that's only fair to the guys that excel on asphalt to 'make up' points they may lose to guys who excel on carpet. We would move it to Saturday but unfortunately Charlie Barnes has promised that for another event. Sorry for that confusion - that's totally my fault. I should have checked with him prior to making that an option. Thanks, everyone, for understanding. Race is set - should be a good time! LET'S GO RACING!!!!!!! |
Thinking about getting a car. Havent had a pan car in a thousand years. Which of the current F1 offering is the most forgiving?

There are lot's of great options--but I love my Roche cars! FWIW

Can be tough to get parts for IF you need em but I haven't needed much of anything and been running the crap out of it. Damn good asphalt car too from what I hear. |

Both would be a good idea if you wanna jump right in, always something goin on and UF1 is rollin! |
I’d be running both Cal and TQ. I love wrenching and figured it wold be one car and two chassis. Graphic for asphalt and carbon fiber for the rug. I was looking to find a 18 Xray just because I’ve never had an X-ray but also don’t want to get something notoriously fragile or ridiculously complex. |
