Short...not sure exactly what length would be ideal. The sensor wire I am using came with my Tekin kit....it works the way it is but I will get a shorter one my next trip to the hobby shop. I would prefer mine not to wrap around the esc....so far it has not snagged on anything but I'd rather shorten it up to not take that risk.

Didn't know if the .3 and .4 had a different hole mounting position or anything like that?

The .4 has the same diff case mounting holes as the previous versions.

Thank you!

I like a very flexible one. I would look for that in addition to a short sensor wire. Some short ones has some sort of mesh around them that bunches.

I run 100mm in all 4 of my tekno's

I got a chance to race my .4 for the first time this weekend. And I have to say it was pretty bad at first. The kit setup was not the setup for me. We raced in an indoor horse arena. medium traction, hard packed in areas, some loam, dust, dry, damp, with smooth areas and big holes, wood chips and horse poo. You name it, this track had it. Not a track for wimps, as the race director put it. At first I had no turn in, a bad mid corner push and very loose on power. The back end was also very unpredictable over some small step off jumps in a sweeper. I would land off a small 1 foot jump and the back would whip out, also getting on the straight on power the back would step waaay out. After making several adjustments. I tried disconnecting the front sway bar (bad idea) tried the rear Ackerman position and dropping the inner front camper link one spot and still didn't have enough steering. So I put that all back and moved the front shocks out one hole, and that's exactly what I was looking for. So I settled on the following changes. Diff oil to 7,7,5, front shocks up one hole, rear inside camber link down one hole. 2* camber all around. Ride height 28 rear 24 front. Out of 29 e-buggies and some of the best drivers in the area I qualified 8th in the A main, and finished 7th. I had a 5th place finish in A-1 so I was pretty happy with the results. I think it still needs some changes for our tracks up here. I plan on using lighter shock oil all around and putting my front shocks back where they came from and changing the diff oils to 7,5,3 But from where I started to where I ended up I was pretty happy.

Will Orion R8.1 speedo fit in here with room for motor sensor wire?

Where are people finding EB48.4's?

Should fit. The HW XR8 is about the largest I've seen, and can be squeezed in.

We got them from the first batch. Next batch expected next month. (Probably 2-3 weeks last I heard)

I got mine about a month and a half ago on eBay.

So I am on the fence on getting this kit. I have previously owned TLR 8ight 2.0e and 3.0e. Sold them a little while ago to start fresh and get a new kit. Was originally going to get a 4.0e but this new Tekno looks nice.

I'm a old guy and I'm usually about sticking with what works. But I have an itch to try something different. And this is the latest 1/8th scale kit out,

Anything I might miss by switching brands? Kit building quality, instructions, setups, durability...anything I should watch for?

Thanks guys.

For all these reasons, I highly doubt you'd go back to Losi. Seriously.

I owned the 8ight-E 3.0. I swapped over to Tekno over two years ago and would never consider going back to Losi. In my opinion, the Tekno car is head and shoulders above the Losi in all categories you listed. The only thing you should watch out for are the broken Losi's you're passing on the track.

Ok you guys have convinced me.

What hop-up/replacement parts do you recommend I get right off the bat? I will just get it all at once.

I would just keep extra screws and maybe a pair of front arms on hand. I generally also like to keep a spare set of hinge pins just in case they bend before the arm breaks.
