This is the cleanest wiring I've ever done, this is my B6, hope to repeat it when I get my B64C.

What's the latest on the carpet version, or at least the slipper availability?

Last we heard here that the carpet car was going to be a month behind the D.

The irony of complaining about complaining. Get over people chatting. It's not a big deal. Humans like to chat.
It's not chatting, it's a giant piss and moan session. We get it, you're missing a screw. No one cares.

You want to chat, how about we chat about setups, upgrades, and help the community along? Crazy, right? Let's not have another 'chat' about how stupid it is that the diff needs shimming. We don't need it. It's been covered.

Try these. Very clean looking and keeps everything looking tidy.

Still ironic to lecture others on what they need. Realizing people all vary on their knowledge why not just enjoy what you like and if not be more of a positive influence over the community.

And BTW... did you ever fix your diff shimming?

I see what you're trying to do, and again you're missing the point...

Asking QUESTIONS about diff shimming, and how to remedy the problem is HELPING the forum. COMPLAINING about the fact that you have to shim your diff in a thread filled with other complaints is useless. See the difference?

Default B64D arrived!

B64D arrived, this is my 1st kit. Started the build and completed the chassis build and moved to the differential build...I'm missing a parts bag. 2.1 and 2.2 are there but no 2.3 bag of parts. 2.1 and 2.2 both have a lot of parts, I'm wondering if all the parts are there just in 2 bags. Anyone else have this issue? This is all new to me, so thanks for any help.

I didn't have a bag labeled 2.3 either, but I was also missing 4 outdrive shims. I was able to build all 3 diffs with bags 2.1 and 2.2. I don't think you have to worry.

Thanks Mellow,
Did you order more shims from AE or just get similar replacements?

Only shims I had were from a B44.1 (the last 4wd buggy I had), but they are SAE and don't fit the new outdrives. I called AE and they are sending me some more. There should be 16, and I had 12. Unless 4 more magically pop up later on in the build down the line I didn't see them. I've only had time to build the diffs.

I believe bag 2.3 is the bag of shock oils and diff fluid

Bag 2.3 is the one with the shock and diff fluids.

The shims are so thin they do often stick together. You may think you grabbed one, but in reality two can easily be stuck together.
