NICE. getting the body painted before the car arrives is always nice. No need for a rush spray bomb job.

If tower and Amain hobbies are going to get them on July 11th....how long would it take to ship over from overseas? I wanna see that manual. I also want see how much more on power steering the B6 has on turf than the freaking B5M with a stand up 4 gear!!

bds81175 06-15-2016 09:43 AM

You want on power steering, reduce front droop. Why are you running a 4 gear on turf?

dsms4ever 06-15-2016 12:50 PM

I'm running the b5 front arms and tower with brass inserts to raise front axle height.

The 4 gear is in there because I sold my 3 gear to make a deal happen on another b5m and I was planning buy the 3 gear lay down but then I'd need a new body and it's just not cost effective when the b6 is pre ordered.

I expect the b6 to be race ready... Which would surprise me with plastic hubs, but we'll see.

dsms4ever 06-15-2016 12:50 PM

With the b6 gullwings doesn't that increase droop??

eper 06-15-2016 02:06 PM

yes but without changing roll center.just makes the car smoother to drive fast on turf. less twitchy

Will they release the body before he car is available?

So.... If I only run on clay high bite track I would want the B6D and then add the lay down trans correct? Now I am running the B5M with 3 gear and B5 flat arms and tower. Would like to order the correct car. Now the next question is how long before they have the parts out to put the lay down trans into the B6D??

Correct, you should get the B6D because it will only cost about $35 to convert your transmission to laydown (instead of Converting a B6 to a dirt car, you'd need a ball diff, front tower, front arms aprox. $80) To convert your dirt car to laydown you will need:
Part #: 91708 (Laydown gear box $8.99)
Part #: 91709 (Chassis Brace, aka waterfall $8.99)
Part #: 91715 (Laydown motor plate $13.99)
Part #: 91716 (Laydown 39t idler gear $5.99)

I also recommend you run a brass C mount if you're going to run a laydown on clay; Part #: 91716

And the parts should be available before or by the time the car comes out, they are already getting some stuff in stock. But my guess is the parts will sell out fast because everyone will be wanting the same parts at first. So keep an eye on the website and order the stuff you want when you see it in stock.

Its rumored that a certain Engineer from AE will be visiting our local track since he is going to be home visiting family and that he packed a B6 with him and will be testing on our indoor Turf/Carpet tracks..........

Can't wait to see what all the Hype is about....
