Thanks for the reply, are the pink and red springs Tekno parts?

TKR6035 are the front pink springs. I tend between those and green, which are stiffer than the stock black (black<pink<green).
TKR6034 are the red rear springs. These are 1 step stiffer than the orange that comes in the kit.

So I have an eb48.3 that my lhs got from hrp in about late December or so. Someone said the new kits have 40+ improvements since then? My kit does not have the lightweight motor mount, which I guess the new ones have.

About to buy a kit

I'm about to buy a kit and I was wondering, some of these kits being sold through other dealers and whatnot, are they the same kits with all the updated parts or is it luck of the draw type of thing for not buying direct through teknorc?

Is there a way to tell without actually buying the kit and looking at all the parts? Numbers on the box type of thing?

I'm not certain what updated parts / kits you are all talking about. I bought both my NB and EB back in November and they are current. As far as I know, there was no running changes in the kit since the .3 came out.

I would go back to the sources of your info and question it. If you still believe them, call Tekno and ask. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

Just to add, the reason I know I switched to Pink fronts was because I wanted a longer spring. The black spring puts the collar all the way at the bottom of the threads.

As the gentlemen above stated, he purchased his kit new but it didn't come with the lcg motor mount as it advertises on the teknorc site. I read somewhere on here many pages back about revised parts. So it shows that if that customer received a kit with a mount from .2 kit then he must've not received a kit with the most updated parts list.

Anyone heard of putting orange front springs in the rear?

RcOneNitro 05-22-2016 04:26 PM

Anyone having issues with bending the front shock tower? I have bent two and never had this issue with my .2 or .1 Anyone knowing of a fix? Would carbon fiber tower work better?

That would be really stiff. I've heard of people running rear springs on the front, but not the other way around.

The front tower on the .3 sticks way up compared to any other buggy around. I hate to say it, but I would crash less. I don't think anyone makes an aftermarket front tower that I know of.

I did bend one, but completely my fault. Would have killed the front end on any other buggy. Just a bent shock tower on the .3.

RcOneNitro 05-22-2016 05:49 PM

I don't crash that often and the tower bent from normal driving. I only go to the track. I have never bent a tower on my other tekno's, 8ight 3.0 or my mugen truggy.

MX304 05-22-2016 07:17 PM

I bent / broke several on my .2 and have had no issue with the towers on the .3.

Pinion size 6s setup

Going to be running my eb on 6s (1350kv) what pinion should I start with? Most tracks I run will are medium to big to huge.

I'm confused. The Tekno Site says the following about the Motor Mount under the EB48.3 kit. Did you not get a motor mount included or do you feel it's the wrong one?

Motor Mount:
2-piece CNC aluminum motor mount with precision dual clamping gear mesh adjustment.
Split center diff mount for easy maintenance.
Lightweight direct-to-diff mount design.
Uses standard MOD 1 pinion gears (TKR4171-TKR4190).

Show us a pic of what you feel is the wrong part and we acn help you get it sorted.
