Hey guys,
I just picked up a used roller of a 410.3 I moved cross country and no longer have access to the indoor track I was planning to race at.
I have a D413 that I picked up that has a
7.5 turn LRP X-20 modified motor
a novak GTB ESC
and a hitech-5996TG servo
can any of this be used for the SCT or will it need all new electronics?
I may sell the D413 complete or as a roller depending on what you guys think.
Or i could scavenge from my 8th scale Arrma Typhon but it has all the stock electronics and a Savox servo SC1256TG

The electronics from your D413 will be under powered for the truck.
Most guys seem to be using 4 pole motors around 4000 to 4800kv and Tekin RX8 or Hobbywing esc's.
I've been running the Tekin for quite a while but it sounds like the Hobbywing is really good and is a bit cheaper:

Your Savox 1256 would do the job for steering.

I ordered the hobbywing 4000kv last night, Ill nab the servo off my 8th scale and replace it down the road

Sounds good you will love it!! There is gearing information in the first post if you haven't read it already...

I ordered an 18T for now based on the comments in this thread to go with the 4000kv setup

To add to the convo, I wouldn't suggest getting the the XR8. I have that ESC and it's huge and to heavy for the already nose heavy chassis.
Hobbywing just announced their new SCT Pro and it now has a 7.4v BEC with the ability to WIFI connect with an adapter.
Here is a chart to look at that I made for comparison

I downloaded the latest HW PC link software and it's not mentioned in the drop down list yet. The newest addition to that software revision is the XR10 Pro, which is another viable option for an SCT ESC believe it or not.
A friend runs one on his SCTE

This is the one I got, it says SCT pro butnot XR8

To fix this issue I ran an external castle 10amp adjustable BEC and bypassed the ESC's BEC by removing the red Rx input wire. I like to run my servos at a minimum 7.2-7.4v and it's easier on the system as well thanks to that extra voltage reducing the need for as much amps for lower resistance.
If you have a servo that can deal with 6v, then your all set for long time.
Be careful of that switch though, it's not as robust as the XR8 switches are and you can't just clip it off if it shorts like you can with other ESC's.
If you don't have the switch on the hobbywing ESC, it will eventually loose calibration and must have it on there to reset.

New build!
Hello all! Picked up my first Tekno vehicle and I'm glad to be aboard the Tekno train! Any recommendations for setup sheets for indoor clay? I'll be running at OCRC here in southern California. Any suggestions before I start the build? I thumbed through the thread and everyone seems to have very few issues with the build. Thanks for the advise in advance! See you guys on the track!

Tekno's site will link you to some setups. You'll most likely find one for your track.
