I was reading over the manual and saw that it says in the "needed to complete" section: MOD1 Pinion (TKR4171 ->TKR4190). That is a huge span!
I have a 3300 kv Pro 4 motor. Any recommendations for a good starting point on pinion selection?
never mind I found it on page one. I was searching for pinion...didn't think to try gearing

i was thinking the same thing on what pinion to use. I'm somewhat of a newbie looking to build this truck. i have a Tekin SC4X 4.5T 550 motor.

No experience with that particular setup, but the range is to cover the different pinions available. If you look at their page, they do offer a 3 pack of mod1's, I'd start there.

I think people usually run between 15t - 18t pinions depending on motor and track size. I was running a 16t on my gen1 with a tenshock sc411 4600kv

The one piece composite diff cross pins don't seem too bad.
They were ever so slightly tight in the gears and so there was a very slight drag/resistance when turning the gear on the pin. Once submerged in oil and run for a bit they'd likely be fine.
I went with the aluminum cross pins (TKR5149A) which are still very light and had perfect tolerances.
