YZ4 keeps getting better in my opinion and the BMAX revised, thus using some YZ4/2 parts has improved it.
I totally agree, both cars will be a wise choice to have for different likings.

Default RM electronics setup

Hi,

Does anybody know what RM is using to hold his batteries in the yz-4? I looked at the pictures from his Reedy setup in petit rc and he has removed the 3 battery holding posts.
http://site.petitrc.com/setup/yokomo/setupyz4/YZ4_RyanMaifield_OCRC2017011922/
I just cannot see what he is using in those pictures.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply Donk. Taping the battery does not sound like a very good idea to me. I guess RM does it because he has several YZ-4s, one per battery pack!

Has anybody tried a different way of securing batteries? on page 64 I saw a modified set of battery holders with O-rings. I am curious as I want to get rid of the 3 posts and carbon holder.

Thank you

it's was very common for drivers to use double stick tape mount batteries on B5M they once ran, and some other cars. you can search old pictures. Rivkin, Cavaleir, and more.

I've been running mine like this for a while now, and it's been great.

We can't do that in the UK, we have to charge in a LiPo sack, or go home.

Part of the insurance we have through the BRCA.

We use to use Velcro back in the day and it worked. I know they sell the Plastic snap together "Velcro" at our local hardware store and it's real strong stuff. It might not be call Velcro but it works the same way but, snaps together.

Have you tried this in your YZ4? If so how did it work? The specs indicate that the holding strength per weight is more than enough however I wonder how it holds under the extreme conditions of the track.
