Thanks. I know the earlier chassis needs a hole drilled in it. I heard there was a kit to drill the hole, but couldn't find it anywhere. Would like to find it vs paying another 85 bucks :)

One other thing you will have to do to convert is to file or grind the top of the rear front suspension holder to an angle, otherwise you will not be able to get the motor back enough. Look at the DT manual, the holder is a bit different. Took me about 10 minutes with a large file to mod mine.

Forgot that part....I'm running 72/34 and it works but anything smaller I'll grind.

What is the difference in these two towers? I am looking for Z2-017D, but can't find it anywhere so will have to decide between one of towers below. I am running on dirt.

YOKZ2-017 is for flat front arms.
YOKZ2-017G is for gullwing front arms. And the kit DT-version comes with Z2-017D plastic for flat arms. |
I bought an AE 75t spur (ASC9650), and the Yokomo slipper pads are a hair too big. Anyone experienced this? Should I attempt to cut down the pads to fit, or is there another brand of gear that has a larger pocket?
|
build/materials quality?
How would you compare the build and materials quality with other similarly priced kits?
|
Better than Kyosho IMO...plus the car doesn't need anything other than what's provided in the kit. Comparing this kit to AE is like comparing a Yugo to a Lexus
|
Agreed, this is a great kit. The rb6 requires you to sand down the chassis, buy aluminum steering rack and drill holes in the chassis to fit the pack in.
What is the strength of the ball studs? In my other kits, i install titanium. Is that required on this car as well? |
