Probably no new version: maybe a slipper or some other small tweaks. Replace the steering rack, switch to metal shock caps, and buy a large bag of extra screws for the front hinge-pin carriers. Then drive the wheels off of it.

Just assembled a new kit to run on indoor astroturf and man am I pleased to say the least. The build quality was amazing! And even the box stock set up is very good. If anything I think it just needs 1.6 two hole pistons and thicker shock/diff fluids. Awesome buggy for sure

You can purchase the 1.6 / 1.7 pistons already made if you look under d216 parts.

Parts I would consider having on hand are:
Spacers - those can go anywhere and never be found
Good range of diff oils

Nice upgrade parts are:
Avid clamp hexs
Avid bearing kit
Exotek steering rack
Avid chassis

Bling parts:
Avid chassis
Exotek wing mounts
Avid wing buttons

There are plenty more to spend money on.

Going through the car before the 13.5 goes in.
Does anybody remove 2 spiders from the diffs for less drag and weight since it's a lot less motor then a 6.5?

Default Ebay - D413-1-10-4WD-Off-Road-Racing-Buggy - Good Price

Just picked this kit up off eBay for 275 new in box. Looking forward to building it and getting back into racing it's been about 20 years now LoL. Used to race schumacher cat back in the day. I wanted to post a link but the site won't allow it until I have more posts, but the guy had about three or four more in case anyone is interested.Just look for pontaracing as the seller.

Questions?? Advice/Opinions Electronics Purchase

Since I am fairly new at this and been out of it for many years, just looking for some advice on my planned purchase for electronics for my D413. This is the list I have come up with after some research, but hesitant to hit the buy trigger yet without someone experienced giving me their advice. I am looking to race locally in NJ for now but am not opposed to traveling out of state once in a while for some races.

I guess I am concerned about incompatibility between components as well as for the D413 as well as component quality. I believe the components I chose are quality products, but maybe overkill? Not opposed to saving a few bucks. Would be interested what others are running for electronics and motors for local racing in their setups.

Thank you.

well I took the plunge and picked up a one of these. I figure for $160 shipped with 2 lipos and a servo and some tire sets it was worth a try. I'll be running this on a tight indoor carpet track. What setup do you guys recommend to start.

Another question, are the avid chassis still being made or is this no longer out there and what is better, avid or exotek and why?

Lastly what chassis protector works with the exotek?

Default Carpet setup

David's set up from the last big carpet race. Pictures show he was using a Exotek chassis but he does not "officially" say so.

so did a search on servo horns, are these the right ones:

https://www.amainhobbies.com/hb-raci...s67169/p148908

If not which ones?

Also how hard is it to do the mod for the exotek chassis or is it to just better drop the $25 dollars on the parts?

anyone else having a problem with wearing through front skid plates really quick? I have tried the T Bone racing ones and am not a fan. They seem to bend and pull through the screws. Just seems like I go through a skid plate every few months (racing weekly)

I ended up going with the HB racing horn. It's supposed to be a perfect fit.

I raced mine very week, indoors and outdoors for 1.5 years and never wore thru one.

Either have a material issue, or some really low ride height and chassis slap

What ever horn you end up with, make sure it's clamping. Will last you 10 times longer than a press on type in regards to slop...
