The AE Caps on the first couple pages I believe are the Composite caps and standoffs, not the AL ones. I think the only other MFGer AL Cap that work with the D413 are the Serpent ones. Serpent SRX shocks, would just need to add or remove limiters to it to get same length of 88 & 100
For what ever reason the AE Alum DO NOT fit.... Others have bought and tried out and were nice enough to report back they don't work or fit.

Keep in mind if you decide to try the serpent caps the standoff nuts are plastic (suck). When I had a serpent buggy I also had to use kyosho o rings at the base of the treads and I used TLR brass washers on the bleeder screws to get them not to leak. They may have upgraded these parts but figured I would mention it.

Thank you guys very much. I appreciate the info. It sucks to have to go through all that for something simple. If they just came in the kit it would be nice. Oh well.

If your mainly looking to get away from the Ball Cup Shock Cap, just get the B5M Composite caps and composite standoffs. They work just fine and should give you that sense of security that your looking for.

De anodized the orange parts today, liked how it looks even though I didnt polish the hubs. Im using Ronnefalks setup from Yatabe on high grip carpet, works well struggling more with a good setup for wet carpet, any tips are higly appreciated

That's probably what I will do. I hate ball cups in general so I will do away with the steering ones as well. No race vehicle (in my opinion) should come with ball cups. Nothing worse than losing because of a ball cup.

I will say without the orange the car looks strange. But looking different is what we all go after. Just ordered my Schelle chassis. And with some of my other repair parts coming in it will be almost a full rebuild for me next week.
looked like Ty was using a different chassis on his D413 this weekend

Hey guys, I am getting ready for the summer and want to buy a bunch 2.4 rims. I did look it up so I know to use 22.4 fronts. But for the rears it says on the first page most 12mm hex should be fine? There is tons of rims out there for the rears, what will give me the right offset?
Also for rims what rims give the best flex for med to low bite tracks? DE 2.4 rims are good price but I found them softer when I used them before for my Durango and they warp? There is also AKA or JC, JC has a good deal on bulk?
Thanks for the info

The color looks like Avid but I don't see any places milled out

Went thru the 413 and did a rebuild and checked out the bearings. I've been running the 413 for about 1.5yrs now with a indoor season and outdoor season (big, dusty 1/8 tracks) on the buggy and the kit bearings where still in very good shape. I only had (3) bearings that felt gritty and needed replacing and those were the rear hub bearings.

Rear hub bearings are what have failed on ours too. My son ran his until they were bushings....doh!

I ran mine for almost a full year (Indoor and Outdoor) on the stock shock caps with no issues, I think in that time it popped off only once or twice. At the star of Indoor this year back in September I ordered the front AL caps.
Probably the best upgrade I've done so far is the Schelle Carbon stretch chassis. The car handles the rough stuff soo much better and can drive it harder in and out of the corners.
The Exotek steering rack I just added back in October and feels nice and helped eliminate a lot of the steering slop.
For those complaining about the ball cups, look at getting the AE Ball Cups and the AE Ball Studs (2pks of the 8mm ones)
There's no real need IMO for Titanium turnbuckles unless you just want to spend the money on something fancy.

Best car ever hands down. I've had mine over a year with very little repairs and lately none. It just goes and goes and goes. Thanks HB and Torrance for one bad ass 10th 4wd buggy.
