How is your experience with running the motor in front with shorty?
I have schelle +4 alu and muchmore combo so i hope that there should be enough room.
Interested in trying that setup 😊

Ran a full season with a Gen 2 6.5. Very little wear, certainly not enough to warrant changing them. Really, the only wear items for me were bearings.

+1 The outdrives and pins on the driveshafts seem to hold up very well.

Ive run mine this way since I got it (running indoors on carpet or AstroTurf). I'm using Orion electronics and had the clearance issues with the steering with the standard chassis, so got the HB +6mm carbon chassis. Im also using some hand made roll bars, 1.8 front and 1.5 rear and the car is very stable in both pitching and rolling.

I haven't gone through this thread but I was wondering how this buggy stacks up against the 22-4? I owe the 22-4 and really like the way it handles. But, I am over the constant diff ball changes with this buggy as it isn't the easiest to always change them. Just wanted to see your guys thoughts about the two buggies. Also, does anyone know of a possibly new HB 4wd buggy? thanks!

I run a 5.5 and so amazed that I have very little if any wear on outdrives and pins.

Just got this buggy built and I noticed something that struck me odd. The center drive shafts move a ton, like 4-5 mm back and forth between the center and front/rear diffs. Should I put an o-ring or something in the diff cup to take up this slack?

That's just the way they are. It won't affect anything.

I've driven the 22-4 and have the D413. The only way I can describe what I've experienced is the Losi seems very smooth, almost sluggish. The 413 on the other hand seems edgy, like it's always on the verge of out of control. But for me, the more you push it, the better it gets. But, everybody has a different driving style, you'll probably get different opinions

I have both cars and have both the stock and Schelle chassis for the D413. I run both cars with shorty packs and although I've run them in open mod we have run 13.5 wheeler lately on our med/high to high bite clay track.

I run the 22-4 mostly because it is plush, works well and seems to allow you to get you of shape and save it a bit easier than the HB. I have not had diff issues in 13.5 but the 22-4 was just plain bad for me in open mod where it would eat belts and bark diffs easily. The HB could run a 2.5t and not have any issues with the drivetrain!! I will usually practice with the HB when I get the chance and it normally goes as fast or slightly faster than my Losi but not as consistent or easily over a race length.

I owned a 22-4 right before my d413. I loved the way the losi drove . Very smooth and plush . Running a 5.5 or 6.5 I never had a belt or diff problem but I couldn't run a whole wed night race without having to fix something on the front end . It would break a arm or that stupid pin brace , or both . I never did get a steel pin brace for it , that may have helped, who knows. I got the d413 , and on the same wed nights I am usually a podium on the B main with the same driving and crashes that I had with the Losi. I don't think the d413 drives "great" , I think its just "good". However its good lap after lap after lap and doesn't break which has improved my results . I don't like the parts support. With the new factory chassis , and slipper and bits they just made available I don't really see a new car right around the corner. If I were you , I wouldn't worry about that, buy a clean used one and score the upgrades you want and rock out

you convert the 1.8 and 2.0 to "standard" and use piano wire. We have it available at most every hardware store.

1.8 would be .059

2.0 would be .078

I got mine off eBay.
Careful with the 2mm roll bar, as I don't think you can use the standard ball ends, the wire won't fit inside the ball.
