Hot Bodies D413 1/10 4WD Buggy

oh ok. i thought it was something like a sc10 or t4 since theyare like that. the length was right but it was a little too big. i would have to drill it out a hair. But i did try to push it though starting at the thread end. maybe the other end is a little bit smaller.

Almost done with mine, the shorty pack should be here today so I can finally finish the wiring and routing the wires. Dropped off Proline body for paint and just waiting for the Sweep tire foams to come in to mount up tires. Also chassis protector should be in later this week as well, so cant wait to see that.

I would run cap head screws on the top mount and the two on the motor mount. I did I like how I could get more torque on them without fear of stripping since they use a 2.5mm hex.
Plus I added low strength lock tite(purple) on the steel into steel screws. Hopefully together it will save me stripping a spur. although I got spares just in case.

trick, I am pounding my car. I dunno know why people are screwing up the spurs. Nor do I know how long it takes them to blow one up. I would not expect any spur to last super on the high biter surface I am running on with a 6.5. The guy that owned this d413 before me, blew the spur because he only messed up on half the pinion. So he had way less contact area. Also, once your pinion started to get worn you, need to replace or it will just start chewing up spurs.

I hear ya wildcat. just a ounce of prevention to try. I cant believe you tempted fate by bragging about not chewing up one. lol.
I do not like how my kit one is out of round and it looks like one of my spares are too. HPI is a big enough company to make a spur that is round. No excuse for that.

on another note comparing my d413 to my Durango. The difference in weight between the Durango with saddles and the d413 with shorty is noticed immediately. You have to be more on your toes with the 413 on rougher tracks. I added a ounce to the rear and it helped somewhat.
I will get used to it and im sure ill be fast with it. Biggest thing is I wont be as afraid to push it hard.
not sure I like the carbon fiber chassis. but maybe its for the best. time will tell.

It will give you that extra weight down low for outdoor racing. The sucks about your hinge pin. Mine have held up so far. Are you using the carbon inserts? My spur it out of round also. The quality of this car has a lot of room for growth. I was going to shim out all of the slop, but decide to just drive it. It handles well, so I will just let it go. People were like "Dude, your car is clapped out". I smiled...as I passed them on the track, lol.

no just glued plastic inserts. I actually think the saddle pack config would be a little better for me because of extra weight and I have saddle pack batts but after building it and seeing all the room you have under the body with shorty config. I will make do with it and add weight. lol

im going to post a pic up soon. I was so pleasantly surprised on how clean the electronics install looked.
I just used CA glue on the contact areas. didn't think It needed epoxy.
have you guys seen anywhere where where the ackerman adjustments are explained(the dots and +/-). its not in the manual.

another fantastic night with this car. I really want to hate this car because of it poor quality, but even clapped out and with Rubbermaid twisty arms, it drives like a beast. I aired it out over the triple and ended up bouncing the car for 20 feet. Hell it was even bouncing up hill. Nothing broke. I didnt have the shock caps pop off in practice and once at the end of the race. I landed the triple and it just popped off. Mainly having issues with the rear. This car carries so much corner speed. I am loving the 3 diffs in this car. It just hugs the pipe and rips out of the corners. We are running high bite with clay slicks.
