Are the pins in the dog bone end of TKR5472 drive shafts replaceable? Replacement part #? Has anyone had any issues w/these pins moving/falling out? Are there any upgrades for the hinge pin inserts? I have a hinge pin insert collapsing.

Anything with 1/2" offset should never hit the arm. Also, most of the standard wheels only rub at full lock.

Hitec's use a 24 tooth spline, unless you buy their newest servos with the red anodizing (not what you have) then those use a 25.
As far as setting up the servo, here's what I do- 1. Have my car ready to go with equal length left and right steering and camber links, set to the toe and camber I plan to run. 2. Set my radio's steering endpoints to 70%, trim and subtrim to zero. 3. Turn on the radio and car then install the horn as close to neutral as possible. 4. Use the radio's subtrim to get the horn all the way centered (parallel to the servo saver link). 5. The little steering link should attach while keeping the wheels centered, but it may need to be adjusted slightly by lengthening or shortening it. 6. With the car on the ground set your left and right steering endpoints, if all the turnbuckles were set equally your endpoints should end up pretty close together, mine are around 134% and 136%. 7. Drive you car back and forth to make sure it goes straight. If it's off use the subtrim function to make it go straight. Subtrim is not supposed to change your radio's endpoint travel settings. 6. Drive it on the track. If you need less overall steering use the steering dual rate to turn it down. It's also a good idea to have the steering limiters in unless you absolutely need max travel. The important point is once endpoints are set, from then on use trim for centering. If subtrim is adjusted then endpoints should be reset. Mechanical adjustments as you mention, subtrim ditto, endpoints, but then trim, in that order. |
you will probably want some hexes that have more offset or grind down the lip by the hex. if not when you tigthen down the wheels it appears to bind.

We don't offer replacement pins however several people on either this thread or one of the other Tekno threads have mentioned success using Mugen's pins. I believe they are also using Mugen's replacement tool as well. Hopefully someone will chime in with the correct part number as I don't know it.

Explain or picture? Collapsing?
Yes, if you have a pin puller/insert tool, they are replaceable. http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/...psdohpm36t.jpg Too much power? http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9qn9kjlq.jpg |

I've had great luck running 7-10-3. The 3 in the back helps the rear rotate easier and will aid you in the off power steering as well by taking away some push.
