how is everyone shimming their rear diff? I did 2 .1s on the ring side and 2 x .25 and a .1 on the opposite side. the mesh is buttery smooth but with all 6 shims I ABSOLUTELY couldn't get the diff back in its case. I haven't run the buggy yet so want to ask and see what everyone else is running.

Default Pinion options for Losi 8ight 3.0-E

I have a Novak SS17.5..which has a .125" or 1/8" shaft. I want to use this motor for my Losi 8ight 3.0-E kit...I just want to know what my pinion options are since I cant seem to find a pinion for a mod 1 pitch which is what the LOSA3560 spur uses.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ryan

Is it new ? 6 shims seems like alot... Mine only took 1 shim when built from new and added 1 more after it was broken in ..
I like to have mine set so it feels a little nothchy when new and find they settle in nicely

please post up the 3.0 setup!!!

on a side note, is there anything wrong with running 5k in all 3 diffs as per the manual? I noticed the shock oil isn't really different than the maifield and drake setups but the diff oil is a little light compared to the 10/7/3 that I see the pros running. iv only seen one setup sheet with 5/7/3 and figured that was the closest to my 5/5/5 setup...

As long as its not loose to start with it will be fine . It should have a little bit of backlash ...
I started with 5/5/5 and adjusted from there to end up at 5 5 1 but it all depends on what the driver wants out of it

That motor is too small. It's made for 1/10th scales. It will be slow and you will probably burn it up within a couple packs. You need something like this http://www.amainhobbies.com/rc-cars-...tt2357/p263925
or this http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?...y&path=112_125

awesome! thanks! so the only real difference between my setup is the center and rear diff fluid, pinion and rear camber arms are in A. not bad not bad. I may consider this after I run mine and see which I like better.

Check out the springs (black up front and green rear) and shock locations (inside on the arms) too as well as droop.

Maddog9 thanks for the setup. My friend ate the side of a battery with the battery forward. Is there a safe, secure, way to mount it?
