Couple questions for everyone.
1. I notice on indoor setups the team runs 1.4 and 1.5 pistons. Do they run the regular or the tapered piston and what is the difference with the tapered piston vs regular?
2. How does kick up affect the car via the inserts in the front?
3. Does everyone use the red or blue loctite on critical areas like the drivecups?
thanks

So my 8ight E finally arrived but I didn't realize pinion gear not included. I see losi has the 14t and 15t mod 1 gears but should I be looking elsewhere? Just wondering if choice of pinion brand is important. Also any hop ups recommended out the box? I have a pair of 8ight T spindle carriers that I see some team driver run. I've change the steering top brace plate to aluminum and a aluminum servo horn. Thinking about the alum servo saver? Also wonderig if the de racing mud guards and skid plates are worth it? Team driver told me mud guards just a wind drag and the skid plates just alters ride height so I'm better off without them. Would greatly appreciate the feed back, thanks!!
Brand wont matter on a pinion, they are for the most part All equal.
Lol Wind Drag, Not the first time ive heard it Nor the last. IMO these guys are FULL of it. We Radar our cars quite frequently at our track and If it IS a Drag, its Less than a single Mph, So IMHO its Moot and the time they save in cleaning your Rear shaft's and Shock's is WELL worth the loss 1/1000th A Mph.

Thanks for the info!! Still trying to decide on a 1900kv or 2050? What say you? Most been telling me 1900 is all I need.

Taper up quicker reaction rebound
2. How does kick up affect the car via the inserts in the front?
use 1's for bumpier track
3. Does everyone use the red or blue loctite on critical areas like the drivecups?
Blue... never red
thanks

You sir have alot of little things wrong with your kit. I would make a list call Horizon and get replacements. They are quick to make things right. I would just run it!

Hey guys, just picked up a kit over the weekend. I'm heading to a LHS to grab a few parts and I was going to get a few pinions. I am going to be running a 2100kv motor, any ideas on where I should start with pinion size? (Would be helpful to know for the 43t stock spur and the 45t metal spur as I plan to upgrade to the metal spur)
Any advice is appreciated!!

I have a 2050KV motor and will use 43/14 as a starting point, but a 44/14 would probably be a better choice.

Not only do the front inserts affect kick up they adjust your total caster. I was told this by one of the top TLR drivers. What I was unable to find out is how each combination of inserts adjusts the caster. Does anyone know?

My front bone was a little "cock eyed" rubbing off the hard coating on the radio tray in a matter of 1 tank.

Fatty must have a grunt or something.
