TLR 8IGHT E 3.0 THREAD
#1741
I have owned and driven quite a few different e buggies and I have found the fastest lap per lap and easiest to drive cars have had a weight bias of 45~50% front 50~50% rear. The best two car I have driven have been a converted HB D812, and the Losi E 3.0. Interestingly, they have near identical weight distribution....

that's interesting! I wonder what prompted that? I mean, I assume they tried that configuration in the R&D stages of the 3.0E? It prolly has a ton of steering with that set up?
Lol damn I hate chasing that stuff, but who knows, may knock off another second or two per lap like that. I would like to hear some reviews about this configuration.

We have ran against some of the 3.0's that swapped the the tray around and I didn't see any advantage except maybe the way it feels to the driver. We don't run brass weight either. Tried it and took it out. Tyler said it made car too heavy for the way he likes to drive.

These are listed as option parts on the TLR site:

Are these not just "normal" gear box sets or? Why listed under "option parts"?

I am all most tempted to get a nitro chassis and conversion for mine.

Could it not be, that the different configurations just suits different drivers? Just like changing other setup options?
Can't believe that TLR released a dedicated E buggy, that in general handles worse than a converted.
Maybe it suits you better and some other, but I go to believe that the E 3.0 overall is a better design.

Some of you guys are reading into this far too much. Read through the whole thread and you will see that when the dedicated E buggy came out most preferred it over than the nitro converted version. There us nothing wrong with the buggy in its current stock configuration. Didn't Phend win the ROAR 2013 Nationals with it........
