Yeah turning down the LVC or off sounds like your batteries are old or not up to the challenge of 4wd SC which is very hard on batteries.

I didn't have any more issues. I ll run again on Thursday night and if it doesn't give me any more problems im going to say thats what my problem was. Be sure to use your timer if your radio has one with the low voltage cut of disabled. I run tops a 6 min Timmer to avoid over heating esc. You could run longer just keep an eye on your temps. You also don't want to drain your battery down to much. If you try it and it work let me know please.

Casper, I think your right. My batteries might getting weak. In your opinion is the 1/8 scale tekin gen 2 better than the orion pro? I know Hacker likes it well and I think you run it too. Would you say its as responsive as I orion pro? I would hate to spend the money on a tekin speedo and not make a big difference. I wish I could test one but no one at my local track runs them.

Tekin's stuff is on par or better than anything out there. They are so smooth and great breaking feel and very adjustable even now offering high voltage BEC if you run a HV servo. Best set of features IMO on the market today.

Your esc overheats after 6 min? My r10 pro can run for 10-11 mins on one pack and only be 12-130 in 90 degree heat. My batteries are also only about a month old. Im not sure if I will try it with lvc off though. Its already at 3.0v per cell and I never ever hit it.

Like I mentioned you could run longer. I just try and keep temps down. I push my truck and and my esc does get hot especially my motor. I could run longer but i practice 6min runs. If you don't feel comfortable don't turn your lvc off.

Casper, What battery packs do you guys run on your 4x4 2.0? I am up for trying a new pack. I currently use crc 5300. I forger the c rate but i think its 50 c rate.

Is a higher discharge rate better for 4 wheel sc? Like Tyler's 2wd mod buggy we use a lower C rate to to take a little snap out of motor. New to the SC scene and just curious.

Hey Randy, I have found that the packs that have between 40C to 60C are the best for 4wd SC. In my experience it does help to tame it down some. We are driving on a completely different style track here in the Midwest compared to the guys out west so for our tracks it does tend to help. I know opinions will differ on this so I am interested to see what others have to say.

A higher discharge rate is good for these. Please keep in mind, this class is by far the hardest on batteries of any that we race today. You want to have good batteries that you trust.

We use Venom 5800 70c packs in these with good luck and life. Just keep in mind that the higher you go on C rating and mah, it usually results in heavier packs. So, if you are one of those that worry about weight like some do, you will have to find your sweet spot.

Thanks Guy . I think I ll try the Venom 5800 70c. I don't want to much weight. My heats are only 5 mins long and mains are 6 mins long. I think 5800 70 c would be perfect. The truck is heavy enough.

I am very impressed by the SMC battery. There is guy at my track that runs them in shorty pack on his 22 buggy. For the price you cant beat them.

Anyone tried running a shorty pack yet? 5000 mah 100C packs might be the Pro4 battery of choice in the future?
