Quick question for you guys.

I'm going to run a shorty in my B4.2, 17.5 on an indoor high-bite clay track.

Any suggestions on a good starting point on where to space the battery on the chassis?

Thanks.

Bump.

Any assistance to the above question would be appreciated.

In the middle? Want more steering you can move it forward, want more rear traction, move it backwards?

:weird:

I just bought a B4.2 Team Used.
Just wondering what parts break most often that I should stock up on?

A-arms? Front and rear or just rear? should I get RPM a arms?
Shock towers? Front or rear?

what parts usually break?

Im about to make an order on amain.

From what I've read RPM ball cups are a must.

Boostgod 02-11-2015 05:53 PM

what else besides ball cups

I'm sure you have probably learnt by yourself by now but as far forward as possible.

Change ball cups 100%.

From experience I can tell you that whatever you dont have a spare of it is likely to break!

In priority and breaking % order I would get:

Rear wing spares
front arms
rear arms
front castor block
hinge pin set
front tower
rear tower

I bought a used B4.2 over Christmas and have more than 50 runs on it at the track (practice, qualifying and racing). In that time, the only failure I've had is the rear CVD's have come apart (they needed to be thread locked). I was running the carbon arms, top plate and u-brace but just switched back over to the plastic parts.

For spares I would stock a full set of arms and some extra screws. If you crash a lot, maybe the shock towers and rear t-plate. The car really is pretty durable.

As an FYI, JConcepts is blowing out a lot of their B4 series parts. I picked up the titanium from axle for a third of what Tower Hobbies is selling it for.

That's an awesome post.
Thanks.
What options for a durable wing? Sworks?

I know xray make one that's 2mm thick which if you can cut it out will be very strong!

Cool. I'm just getting the buggy now and I really like it.
I know it's supposed to be past it's prime but it still keeps up at the track.

Have a standard B4 and needed to replace the front shock tower. I purchased the same shock tower as the manual said ASC9568 and its thicker where the shocks mount than the standard B4. Do I need to just get some longer screws? Attached is the comparison

Thanks for the help

Okay thanks, I wonder why they list the one I purchased in the manual then. The ASC9569 had a * beside it and figured that was just meaning factory upgrade and I was just buying a standard tower.
