I'm heading to the UK to check out Astroturff. Anyone have a good set-up for high traction Astroturff? I expect springs and chassis weight placement will be crucial since I am sticking with the B4.2 rear motor. I hope to install my ESC in the tray. My Reedy shorty pack all the way forward.

Tom
lower the ride height to help with the traction roll , 23mm in the rear 23.5 front

You are going to want to checkout Warehouse 3. It's the closest at about 45mins away.

Warehouse 3 is about 40 minutes from you. I will actually be in phx and plan to run there either friday or saturday night after turkey day. Its a nice indoor track. They typically run tires like pink beams or m4 suburbs there. They normally have a great 17.5 buggy turn out and normally run mod buggy as well.

traveling is not so fun when you have great local tracks. i will be missing a local points race that I don't want to miss. Work requires it so why not take a RC car and find a track to race on. London and nearby has a lot of race tracks. I almost jumped to PanCar just to do something. I am really happy that I will get the chance to race on Astroturf a race that is a good size event.

Caster Blocks-
Stock "3 hole"....or the often setup sheet noted "2 hole".
What's the deal?

rider313 11-09-2013 01:52 PM

I believe the 2 holes are made with a stiffer material.

2 hole are molded out of a stiffer plastic. The hinge pin hole is also drilled and not molded making it have less slop. The 3 hole is molded out of the newer plastic and the hinge pin hole is incorporated into that mold. You will notice a difference when installing the 2vs3 hole blocks on the car on how tight the hinge pin goes in.

Right on. Thank you. Are you reaming the hinge pin hole? 1/8th inch reamer used to be the call.

Not only that but the little screw that goes into it actually tightens a small amount likr finger tight with the wrech where as with the other three hole one I did that and it stripped... lol

I have never reamed one, i always just pressed the hinge pin in. The 3 hole blocks you can throw the hinge pin in there no issues. The 2 hole you need some pliers or something like that.

New here to buggys . I have 2 sc10.2s. First 4.2 I noticeice a lot of carbon parts for it. What are the advantages of each part in carbon? Also what advantage id the b44 rear arms? Thanks in advance. Ryan

ntJeff 11-09-2013 04:30 PM

I'm no expert, but I believe carbon parts are used because there is much less flex vs composite.

I also think the b44 arms are harder/have less flex.
