The B5 lacks some of the "bling" of the 4.2, but the B5 is pretty well outfitted for a "team" level kit. Many are saying this is the best outfitted "team" kit to date. Not much is needed as far as upgrades go on the B5. For more facts there is the official B5 and B5M thread with tons on info. |
I'm having a problem with my buggy and I'm hoping someone can help me diagnose it. I will center my steering but after a hard crash/tumble, the steering gets thrown out of whack and I have to use the trim to get it centered again only to encounter the same problem with the next tumble. Everything in the front end feels tight, I'm not sure what it could be.

The B5 includes Big Bore shocks and a Ball Diff...same as the B4.2. Pretty sure the only thing the B5 lacks is metal shock caps, aluminum rear hubs, titanium links, and aluminum steering rack.

In my case the screws(part #6917) were just loose enough to allow the servo to move very slightly against the servo mount as a result of me taking a tumble/crash. Take the servo out of the car and see if you are able to tighten the screws(part #6917) to the servo mount (part#1779) so that you are sure the servo is tightly secured and not shifting in a wreck/tumble. After I secured the servo properly to the mounts, I didn't have to adjust the trim after a wreck. I hope this helps. |
Electronics...
Hello guys, question here. Seems that some of the pics i saw people are mounting the electronics (ESC) on the center and some are at the side tub. Is there any different on either of them? What will the car feel when i mount the ESC on the middle? I have stick pack and not planning to swap to shorties. I saw some companies have them (Avid, AE and Yaiba).
Also notice the wiring from the motor to ESC are usually line up through the rear shock tower so if i need to change the tower do i have to de solder the wiring and re solder again? Sorry for the long question. Thanks in advance. Cheers. :sweat: |

v2 slipper clutch
B4.2 v2 slipper clutch going out maybe when i hit the gas it goes but really slow and you can hear what i think is the clutch spining so itightened the spring down and very little changed so i guess i have o get new spring and pads or just spribg?also anyone know where i can buy a xp sc500 esc by itself and not a motor combo?

Why would you want to get a new SC500 esc? I'd be looking for something aftermarket, it will be better quality. |
If you HEAR something spinning, look at the thrust assembly. It should be fairly tight. If it sounds like barking it's too lose so crank it all the way down and then back out the screw 1/8 turn and see how it runs and sounds.

Guys I'm sure I could search for this but I'm just gonna ask. I am new to B4.2 and I was wondering about setups for bumpy medium grip indoor track. Probably running a 13.5 or turned up motor and esc 17.5. Thanks in advance for your input.
