If you are using the MIP Pucks then you have to use their thrust. It is designed to fit into the outdrives a certain way.

do the MIP Pucks work with a mod motor? or does the power blow them apart?

Blow them apart.

What do you guys think about the Jconcepts Finisher body b4.1 + 8mm for the b4.2. It's the best seller on A main. Has kind of a forward cab look to it, but nt as forward as the proline bulldog.

The puck system would probably be fine down to 7.5 but you would always have to remember it's in there. The mip components are really high quality and fairly beefy yet very light. If your a very smooth driver they will probably hold up just fine. Where I run my c4.2 (medium/small indoor clay track) I had a X12 7.5 in there and switched to a tekin gen 2 17.5 and my lap times were 2 tenths slower with a stock motor. The pucks will probably wear quicker with a mod. I'm a pretty smooth driver and I try to never spin a tire on my 2wd buggy. Worst case scenario you will waist $70 but once you experience the lighter feel more nimble of the buggy you might find a mod motor isn't necessary. Especially with the weight savings.

Found my problem with the servo link. The previous owner had the links too close together, which was putting too much pressure on the cups. The manual clearly says to keep a 2mm gap there. :)

That was me...my bad. That said I'm not sure why I had it that way, the B4.2 I still have is at about 1.5mm (I checked after you pmed me). Honestly I don't remember it binding though.

Dion Dennison runs the pucks with his 8.0 reedy and loves em. no problems

any body running the j concepts hd ball cups i need some close messurements i cant for the life of me get the front end to come out right.

Can you be more specific, ash? What are you having trouble with?

ashxxx 12-20-2013 06:03 PM

toe and camber seems like do 1 side then the other side out of whack then back and fourth.

After each adjustment, even after a half turn I always make sure to lift and drop again.

Why would you want to? It's mod, save your money.

So......going to replace the ball cups/ball studs to eliminate some slop---is the latest consensus that the JC ball studs along with the Losi ball cups are the BEST way to go?? Also--part numbers??
Thanks and Merry Xmas!!!
