Hey guys! Does anyone have any tips, or an easy way to mark the mounting post holes and the shock cut-outs on a Pro-Line wing? It's the stock wing that came with my B4.2.

Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated! I don't want to screw it up!!!

Honestly I have found it easier then guessing to get a jconcepts wing specific for the b4 and be done with it.

I have a few of the J Concepts wings that are specific for the B4.2. I just had the Pro-Line wing and thought I would use it.

I've only done one proline wing, and eye'd it up. You could just try and match it with your jconcepts wing, and get the holes from that.

that's why i like this forum so much, you can always learn about new tips and tricks.

I don't believe it actually makes them "stronger"--nor do I believe it makes them "softer". My understanding is it makes them "less brittle" which raises the threshold before they go "crack"!! ;)

The fan casing took a beating but the fan still works its not going anywhere

What I have done in the past has worked for me. Use a sharpie or a dab of paint on the posts, and eye the wing as best you can, and then drop it onto the post. Should get the job done, then start to make the holes, but don't go to full size yet, just big enough to see the post through, if you have to "adjust" you still have a little wiggle room...best of luck.

I don't think I'm that guy. I'm one of the fastest SC4x4 drivers and though many have a better fastest lap, I'm often faster at the end because I crash less. I broke 3 rear arms in half a year with my buggy... don't know if that is much, but it's too much for me :D So why not make the car more durable if it's possible. Our track is not very forgiving regarding crashes... drive over the pipes one time and you'll most likely wreck an arm because it has nails sticking out all over the pipes.

Do you know if it'll work with the B4.2 arms? Someone in the C4.2-thread mentoined it only works with nylon parts.

I've been dong this hobby for a long time and the neatest trick for those mounting holes, which I just recently "barrowed" ;) from a newbie at RCHQ (BTW thanks Robert), is to put a dab of black grease on the mounting posts then position the body over the car and press down. Should work well on a wing too that doesn't have grid markings on the bottom. For the shock tower cut outs, if I were doing it again I'd cut a card board template to size and then trace the cutout onto the wing.

For the couple of wings that I did that weren't marked I positioned the wing where I wanted it and while holding it there simply made dimples over the posts with my reamer.

Has anyone done any motor comparisons for 17.5? I run Orien at the moment but was thinking of switching to a Killshot. Anyone have experience with both that can compare the 2

The eyeball and a sharpie trick is your best bet,but I have taken an old wing that came off the car and cut the sides off so it will fit on top of the new wing and marked it that way. Works good especially if the wing is painted and you can't see the posts.

I've heard the Killshots are smokin' fast. I want to put one in my sons car.

I have a first gen apex which is one of the fastest motors ive ran in an offroad vehicle for 17.5 my buddy let me borrow his ion 3 and I put a high torque rotor in that in my tc6.1 and my car was by far the fastest motor ive ever ran for 17.5 so get a high quality motor
