I was first looking at a SMC SM-1 10.5 turn sensored. $50 from the manufacturer. Stormer has a Tekin combo RS Gen2 and redline gen2 motor for $180.
So I haven't decided on anything yet. I may go cheap until I find out if I can see the little thing very well at the far end of the track.

It's pretty sweet, now that we've got the roller going. This new track is what has made me want to try a 1/10 2wd buggy.
Take a look and let me know what you think.
Thanks
Brian
Tamiya TS-6 Matte Black spray painted on the out side. Scotch brite the the surface a little first and it will hold up really well. There is also Tamiya Satin clear but is only available direct from japan at the moment and it takes a few weeks to arrive. Did you like the car or no comment....

first night racing my B4.2 tonight, only had about 10 laps before racing started to try it out (Tekin ESC burned up on me, had to swap!) but by the main I matched my best time I had posted with my Durango that I had been driving for a couple months, and feel there is quite a bit of room to go faster still.
Tomorrows project is to install the Triad clutch from the Durango and also swap from the front Ions over to Barcodes (felt like I had too much front bite actually)

SEM flat or matte black vinyl trim paint. The last stuff I bought to do
my schumachers was like 8 bucks for a 16oz can. I think I used maybe
half to do two bodies. You can get it or a house brand at wallmart.
Obviously you have to paint the inside and out so you will have to create
a second set of window masks and make sure and remember to pull off the
protective wrap. Make sure you lay the paint on very LIGHT or it will run.

Don't worry about Kv??? WHY? Is it all based on gearing?

I will run at NorCal, but mostly at our club in Watsonville. Here's a little vid of our new track

If you're new to 1/10 scale 2WD buggy, then I'd recommend Reedy or Orion motors. The Reedys are torquey yet smooth. The Orions are very smooth, but have less low end, making it a bit easier to control wheel spin.

you should only look at KV, power, rotor length and if it's star- or delta-connection. The turns say absolutely nothing about how the motor behaves, this term is associated with brushed motors and people just kept using it when brushless became intruduced although it only leads to confusion instead of making it easier to chose the correct motor
