I do. they never bend like that. I break them way before that point, lol.

I'm guessing no one will like these since they are not packed with AVID hopups or ESC trays etc. I just like to keep it clean.

Haha, your not the only one not on the AVID bandwagon. They do out some nice products out, dont get me wrong, but people seem to think that AE put out a pile of crap, yet they bought it. Its funny to see how many people magically have problems that that brand new AVID part fixes. On a real note though, your cars have never seen dirt yet have they...? Haha, your stuff is clean and your balls are the best!

Please please please bring you B44 to Bumps. I'm trying to promote the class there. :D

But your missing one key part from Avid. Dude all that jack in your cars and you run aluminum on aluminum in the shock mounts?? Really??

Pony up the $24 and outfit both cars with the bushing mounts at least. LOL

Eh...go for $3.78 and get the AE plastic bushing mounts for both cars. :D

So AMain has their labor day sale going on...and I just one of their random 10% today only coupons. Think I can stack those discounts? Only one way to find out I suppose.

Why are the plastic shock bushings better than the blue aluminum ones.

Metal to metal contact under a high load such as shock caps is not good. Using something like the Avid shock bushings now replaces the metal to metal with metal to plastic. Avid uses delrin bushings which are a tighter tolerance and replaceable if they wear out.

Tighter play meaning less slop, how do they compare to the ae ones the plastic ones I mean.

I used the plastic RTR bushings from AE and they work for a while but bent shock screws since there was no metal collar to support it other than a metal nut.

Russo's cars don't get dirty. It's in his contract with MConcepts. Dirt is strictly a no no. Once they get 32 grains of dust on them, he starts building the next one.

And did you really just say his balls are the best? Man you know him better than I thought

That's funny. Avid is good but I sometimes wonder if if any of the stuff really works other than looking cool.

anyone got some shock setting recommendations for loose track bumpy conditions. basically springs, shock oil using 1.6mm x2 hole flat pistons.

Is there a how-to video on the rear hub mod? I'd want to see this done before I would attempt it .

Essential Mods:

Grub Screw for Rear Hubs:

This should eliminate all slop associated with the rear hubs becoming "loose"

Tools Needed:
Dubro Tap set
4-40 grub screw

1. Drill a hole into the bottom of the rear hub all the way through until you reach about the middle of the hinge pin
2. Tap hole with 4-40
3. Insert 4-40 grub screw that will go down into the hinge pin.

Shaved U-Brace Mod

Thus Mod is used in conjunction with the C hub and will lower the inside ball stud by about 2mm. To remove the material or "shave" the brace you will need a dremel or an equivalent too for grinding/sanding/milling. Below is a picture describing where to remove the material. The red circled areas need to me shaved to the same level as the u-brace top (yellow arrow). The best way to shave the brace as explained by "Razathorn":

Bob, you're silly. Marker cars are normally clean. Lol.

Speaking of balls, what's up with avid cage thrust balls. Is this somehow better or just easyer?

Wildcat1971 09-02-2013 10:08 AM

its supposed to be both. easier for sure, but I think they come with a grooved washer set that allows for my bite and tunability.

Cridd 09-02-2013 10:46 AM

I ordered a few to rebuild a diff, see how it goes. I want to try the engine centering kit too, but have not ordered yet.
