gearing is trial and error. Check for esc and/or motor heat after 5-6 minutes

Guys my friend wants to know wether he should get the b4.2 or the rb5 sp2 wc? At his lhs they are having a major sale and the rb5 is $280. I have an rb5 and I think e should get one but he doesn't know.

I personally if I am racing woudl try and go with a current kit, or at least one that is close to the current kit if buying new but thats me. Especially as if you decide you want to sell, the price you will get will be better relative to an older kit. For some perspective, a buddy of mine if I recall correctly got a loaded RB5 with a whole ton of parts for like $150 shipped.

fond of promatch racing myself. the new IP lipos he is stocking are reasonably priced and have a 1 year warranty. I got some of the 7200mah 80Cs myself. Heard good things about SMCs as well with price to performance. I think there 6500s are pretty cheap right now, though dependent on what works for you of course.
I keep going back and forth between running a shorty and this big packs I have. Like the feel of the shorty but the big pack wasn't exactly off pace either.

Tell your friend to buy the B4.2 and let that old kit sit on the self. They are putting it on sale for a reason. Now if it was a RB6 for that price I would consider it.

I know it's probably been re-hashed many times, but in a nutshell, are any of the 'hop-up' alloy parts needed on a B4.1 other than the aluminum steering rack? I have the front brace and alloy rear hubs. Needing a quick consenus due to having parts re-anodized and don't want to leave anything out.
