What fitment issues are you referring to?

Nothing too bad. I have had my kit for a while now and I'm kind of over it.

Front bulkhead brace pin hole was drilled too small. Had to buy a new one out of the box

Aluminum shock bushings were binding on the shock tops so i switched to plastic.

Rear shock clearance required spacers to clearance turn buckle. Added spacers and started ripping screws out of the a arm. Only a problem when I run the hubs in the forward position. When middle they only need 1 spacer. Recently informed I should use a longer screw.

Rear chassis U Brace that mounts to the chassis stripped out easily. I used a longer screw.

Shock top bleeder screw O-Rings slipped out of place easily so I replaced with Losi metal ring.

Had some A-Arms bound up out of the box. Seem to be broke in now.

Maybe some of you guys driving the b4 for several years already knows this stuff but for me I have been in a 22 for the last year. To get a kit and things don't fit right it bothered me at first. Even having to drive to the hobby shop to pickup cheap little parts during the initial build really bothered me. I am happy with the way it drives I prefer it over the 22 but things don't fit quite the same as the Losi.

I am curious too!

Other than the parts I had to trim, chassis and front arm mold pieces...
Mine went together really well! I would put it up there with Kyosho and TLR in build ease/quality.

B4.2 -

This is the first buggy that I have built in 8 years. Impressed with the out-of-box setup and quality.

Made hitting the track quick and painless.

Is it me or does the B4 seem to be the cheapest and most low tech looking 2wd compared to Losi and Kyosho?

I mean I love my B4 more than the other two choices, but I mean don't you guys agree?

Not hating on the B4 at all though..

It is still winning races and is a proven platform, I don't see any need to modernize it just to look new...

B4 chassis is a proven world champion design. No need for it to be changed. Eventually when AE makes a B5 it's going to be interesting to see what they come up with. Going to be hard to beat the current design.

My worry would be if it goes the route the RC10GT went before they finally released the GT2.

Winning championships in the hands of top pro drivers, scarce at the actual track because the competitions truck was better in the common mans hands.

Heck, sometimes I wonder if having the best drivers wheel your car can actually be a bad thing at times. Primarily that their driving skill covers up for areas that can be improved as "a win is a win" if you are not looking to drastically improve.

Luckily, the B4 can still get it done in the average joe's hands, it just doesn't have that bling factor, or maybe a better word would be elegance that other vehicles convey.

I have had similar issues
1. Aluminum shock bushings were binding on the shock tops

2. Rear shock clearance required spacers to clearance turn buckle. Added spacers at A-arm

3. Front hex's dont clamp to axle (can slide off very easily when wheel is off)
Not too sure what to do about this - just live with it......

4. Top drive shaft was bent, resulting in differing distance between spur & pinion. Tried to pull it back into shape, but still out.

I like the car, but these issues have been a slight pain.

I can attest to #1 on my B4.2 and # 4 on my T4.2. Haven't run into #2, though the springs are pretty close to the upper links and #3 is a non-issue since I back-dated my vehicles to run my existing bearing & pin wheels.

I chucked up the upper shock mounts in a drill and honed them out to fit the aluminum shock caps.

MIP upper shaft fixed the runout issue with the T4.2

Seems like AE has some supply chain issues.

I'd give AE a call if you think some of your parts are defective. They packaged two left alum hubs with a buddy's kit not too long ago and sent a replacement right out. I agree that QC could probably be better, but AE has yet to drop the ball in my experience with their customer service when there was an issue. Hopefully they get you taken care of.

Gotta' agree about AE being lacking with QC. They are willing to replace bad/mis-packaged/ill-filling parts, but, they really have some issues. Also, too many of their parts are just not made properly. It seems to vary across the board. Love the way the AEs handle and drive, but, why don't they just get it right?!

Just built several XB4's in the last 2 months for myself and friends. The fit in finish of it blows every AE vehicle I've ever built out of the water. By a LONG shot. I still like AE. It's good for the money and you cant deny they perform great. Just wish they would put a little more into QC. But they'd have to feed those little chinese kids more rice. And the customer would have to pay for that. I'd be okay with that. But I know a lot of people would cry foul.

I was thinking of this as it looks like a lot of AE drivers are using them too.
