Daniel , yes does sound a bit confusing ..;)
Learn more about raising & lowering the roll center and it will make more sense ... Raising the roll center will lower traction.. The C-Hub already has the roll center raise up , adding more spacers raises it even more making less grip . The A-Hub will bring more grip as you raise the inside ball stud , feels a lot like using a longer link .

Lowers outer link positions for lower roll center. Provides more rear end stability. If you're in the situation that lowering the roll center frees the car up, you're probably already on the wrong side of the rear roll center setting. What you're basically asking the car to do is roll too far and wash out to steer. It may work, but on power corner exit grip will suffer greatly. In that situation, generally you should raise the roll center, and keep raising it, until it wants to steer correctly. That way you can get the grip/rotation you want in tight corners and still have plentiful corner exit grip because the car stays more level on power with the higher roll center in the rear. I invite everyone to venture over to the Understanding and Tuning Roll Center thread for further explanation of roll center and discussion so that we can keep this thread clear of this often hot topic's back and fourth posts. |

Sorry for the mistake .. rest is correct however ...( using spacers to control grip ) |

When using the C-hub & a shaved U brace use no spacers under the inside ball stud .
Some free up the rear a little and add 1 x .030 under the inside ball stud. When using the unshaven brace ? Most use 2 x.030 spacers under the inside ball stud & use the A hub , then they remove one spacer to free up the rear a bit if needed ... |

How did Scott Brown of the all mighty PNW do down in little old Utah?
P.S. I already know the answer. They both had a great race. Scott tq & won the Sc4x4 ,tq 2wSc & 2nd , not so sure ,somewhere in the middle with the 2w buggy. JW think won St,3rd in 4w,in the back of buggyA Both are great team mates & have been there for me all these years.. Taking pride in the fact Scott let me help prepare his rides(bug & sc 4). A good example of how the Ae team works together here in the Nw.:tire: |
Anyone have a good setup for a 1/8 track thats rough and pretty low traction?
|
I was referring to the 2wd buggy class. Just funny to see what happens when fast guys from other places come to Utah and find themselves a lap off pace and getting beat by 4 locals.

Hmmm....Someone came from out of town and raced against some very good locals and got beat, that is very odd. Maybe you should take the time spent belittling people and trying to sound like you know what your talking about and instead go to the track and practice....maybe one day you too will be one of those fast locals...
Also it is you're. Anyway I just wanted to rattle Cherry's cage. He likes to dish it out, and there is nothing he can really say back. Utah>PNW. |

Back when I lived in Utah I finished on the same lap as Robbie a couple times when he won. You may have heard of Robbie doing good when he travels, a little while ago he came to Southern California for this one race you may have heard of, um what was it? Oh yeah, the Reedy Race. Just in case you missed it he won the open class. My point is everyone thinks their locals are fast, but the guys from Utah prove it.

There's no question Rob G is fast and a really nice guy but who are you to try to take credit for somebody else being fast at an event like you had something to do with it? You say the guyS from Utah prove it. Who else from Utah has proved to be fast at a track they traveled to for an event? |
Ok now all, lets get back on topic. I feel that we are just bashing on other people that we have never meant which is really common on the internet. I think we should just all grow up and enjoy the hobby and not get all wrapped up in this drama. I can tell you from experience everyone in Utah sure doesn't go out saying they are the best and want to go win. Sure people in Utah want to travel out of Utah and go win but do you think that is the only reason we go? Lets just get back to the hobby and enjoy it and not get wrapped up in the drama..
