so after the whole cva discussion, I checked my rear arms. there appears to be a little rubbing, bur I dont see how that is possible, there is a lot of clearance

t0p_sh0tta 03-31-2013 06:49 PM

There's a lot of flex in the stock arms. A LOT.

Wildcat1971 03-31-2013 06:54 PM

I think I am gonna try the b44 arms. I could kinda see the flex on the shocks and the rub, but jesus for the cva to rub that is like rubber.

Just remove your rear hubs and dremel some extra clearance with the arms that are on your car.

You'll give up some rear grip with stiffer arms. You need all the flex you can get.

all you need to do , Ae tells you too as well ...

I've triple checked my manual and the manual on the web site and looked for any addendums that may have been included in the box....I still can't find where AE tells us to do this.

I'm not against it, I'm just a little concerned about putting a side-load on shocks...I figure it would wear out the piston/O-rings faster, and cause unnecessary binding which would change the handling characteristics.

lol funny you said that... I just was saying last night I need to grab some plastic arms and throw my carbon stuff into the box. I'm actually going to go through and swap out all my new parts for old clapped out parts for outside :D

It's in the document that shows how to build and mount the shocks that comes with the shock kits

Brawwwwwwwww

Wildcat1971 04-01-2013 08:44 AM

I managed to pick up a used B4 with some upgrades and BB shocks this weekend. I plan to use the second set of shocks to do back to back shock package changes. Plus it will allow me to quickly mix and match front and rears. One set will be the 1.4 x3 and the other will be 1.6's. My wife told me it was a stupid waste of money, lol. That it would have been cheaper to just buy the shocks on ebay, lol. I might set it up for my kid, but kinda afraid to take her 22 away. The b4 really does not like to eat pipes, lol.
