We had a discussion about this a few weeks ago, it seems most everyone was between 1500g-1550g. There were variations of course (the guy with the 1437g full lipo b4.1 comes to mind:confused:).

I hope you weren't talking about my posts about my son's car? (I don't recall anyone else posting that they were below 1500g) My son's car was 1481g with a 4300mAh SHORTY lipo. (If you aren't talking about me, my apologies.) I am meticulous about my cars and that weight is very accurate.

What's a good weight for this car? I don't ever see weight listed on setup sheets.
Coming from Kyosho, that car seems to be the best around 1560g to low-1600g. I thought maybe weight would be fairly significant for tuning this car as well.

i was told 1600 grams

Now that the 4.2 has been released does anyone have a proper comparison to the rb5 sp2 wc?

I can't answer this but I did notice your in Australia. I would mention the size of the tracks in your area as well as track surface. Just keep in mind the 4.2 is basically a 4.1 worlds with big bore shocks and the upgrades most of us have been using a while now. It definitely packs some value since shocks alone are a $100 upgrade.

Tradin Paint 02-16-2013 04:15 PM

Yes, the shocks are a $100 upgrade but to swap them out in the kit there is about $20.00 difference (retail) plus springs

Testmonkey 02-16-2013 04:34 PM

I just weighed mine with battery in it and it's at 3.2 pounds. That comes in at 1,450g.

66Racer If you wanna try some stuff get your self some Traxxas spring retainers part number #3768 for $3 and some big bore springs it is a cheap way to get in on the big bore idea and if you really like how it feels spend $20 on the avid kit and just go that route till you can get a full out set of big bore shocks I have both and some times the V2's with BB springs are just what you need if the track is really rough... just a thought

3.2lbs is actually 1450 +/- 45grams could be as low as ~1400g or as high as ~1500g, 3.20lbs is 1450 +/- 5 grams. Big difference.

One decimal place of precision on a pound scale probably isn't enough precision to compare weight to the gram.

Beasty Shout 02-17-2013 12:49 AM

I'll weigh my car without wheels too. and it'll come in at 3.2 lbs. just kidding

Testmonkey 02-17-2013 05:12 AM

Well I feel like a tool. Switched the scale to grams. With battery it's 1601g. SIRI lied to me about the 1450:ha:

Beasty Shout 02-17-2013 06:02 AM

1601 still isn't too bad if you have a low turn motor.;) You could still cut around 10g by going to a low pro servo. If you wanted.

My son's old b4.1 was 1481 with 1/4 oz in each triangle, no balast, 4800mAh shorty, spektrum sr200, savox 0253, Tekin RS/13.5...other than that just the average FT that was converted to a worlds car.

Actually, I was:sweat: But in my head I combined your post with micrors4guy's claim of 1501g with "a lot of weight added". Once I found your old post, noting no ballast & a shorty, that weight makes more sense considering I'm 60g heavier also with a shorty, AE ballast weight, 7g by the receiver, aluminum u-brace, & a truck chassis.

It seems the range is from 1481g to 1600g, with most being 1500g to 1550g.

I was at 1657 then starting taking out weight. Kept ballast in, went to 4300 shorty, got to 1560. I ran a 3000 mah shorty and was at 1500. It was a little skittish but I liked it.

Anybody have there car flip in a sweeper? I did it twice yesterday, sometimes my throttle response is wrong and I will slide but never catch and flip? Yesterday would catch and flip.

When you are experiencing roll overs ?

Try to roll off the throttle smoother...

using a lower ride height will help control the roll

24mm med traction
23.5mm med high traction
23mm high traction (slicks)
