At my local track I can use well over 5000mah in 7 min so I need the best pack possible.

I've been running this pack with a 3674-1900kV Tacon in my Hyper 10TT and it never breaks a sweat with well over 20 min run times:

Our mains are only 6 minute.

Well I pulled the trigger and bought this truck and am stoked to start building it and racing a new class:ha: Most all the guys that race these vehicles run 2 cell and 4600 kv motors. They are always coming off complaining how hot their motors get and how their puffing batteries and such. The track is a small indoor clay/dirt mix with med. traction. So I was thinking of running a takin RX8 gen2 with a 3000 kv pro 4 hd on 3 cell and wanted to know if this would be the way to go to keep thing running cool and still have the power to try and beat these guys:sneaky: My local track does not regulate cell count. Any advise would be great and hope to one day be able to give constructive tuning input for this tread.

Most people typically over gear there trucks as well, trying to squeeze everything out of it. With proper gearing and a good battery theres usually not too many issues. I run 2s lipos, Speedzone 6200 & 7200 and have a couple others as well.

On the 3s thing you might want to check what your track rules are, some places and tracks are strickly 2s only and if you travel to other tracks there might be issues.

I ran 2s lipos and a 4600 4pole motor for almost 2yrs and never had any thermal issues and only puffed one battery during that time frame. The new batteries from SMC, Promatch Racing and others are alot better and reasonablly priced as well.

Like someone else mentioned, if I had no cell count restriction I would go full 1/8 ebuggy setup with 4s. Tekin Gen2 RX8 & T8 1900 combo. Would be more versatile in the future.

Had a great time this past weekend racing for a great cause. The 3rd annual Karsyn's Krusaders race held in Evensdale, IA

Tekno SCT410 was great. Still working on setup, but it was more than capable to win the 4wd Open SC class. Took 2nd place behind Team Associated sponsored Alex Vanderbeek. I tried to make it a race at the end, but he didn't make any mistakes in the last 2 mins, and he did a great job of driving.

No puffing, no power fade, nothing. I guess they are either really good/cheap packs or I am just lucky. I run the HW SCT Pro ESC and HW 4700.

I see a lot of u guys are running the bigger packs 7200mah ect, I know a lot of guys are getting away with high end high C rated shorties also correct? Guy on here a lot from Ohio Samrus or something like that he posted picks of the carbon air dams recently, he runs shorties which is what I was gonna try, I just got my truck this past Friday its my first 4wd anything, gonna race in Dallas tx at mikes small indoor tenth scale track with low to med traction and was gonna get the Tekin pro4 HD 3500kv should be plenty? Track is prob like 40 50ft by 30ft I'm thinking. I have no idea where to start with anything, help me out guys like diff oils? spur pinion? gonna use the stock springs I guess cuz there soft and its low to med traction track. Pistons I want to try the Fioroni's or the Competition Suspension Pistons they should and better be awesome for 48 bucks. I know some of u guys are running them, the F's what oil weight would u suggest for low to med traction track and what springs? Anyone trying Avid or Kyosho springs? Thanks guys.

It all really depends on track and driving style. As of recent I've been using just about all of my 8200 mAh in 7min (7849mAh 2 weekends ago).

If you can find them in stock I think that the best bang for your buck (non ROAR) is the SPC Racing 2s2p 50c 8200mAh pack. Especially since some mains around here are 10min.

Is that @ Mikes in Dallas? or is there another mikes hobby in Houston? Cuz I will be hitting Dallas and tryin to figure out what packs to buy for a Tekin pro4 HD 3500kv was gonna do a high end shortie but don't wanna fall short and spend a lot of money on packs I cant use. Guys any input on this was looking at the Orca infinite 4500 80c shortie or the SMC 4600 70c which are in stock now and cheap 50.00? or the Pro-Match 4600 80c 55.00 I never owned any of these but they are cheap I have now Orion 4000 90c but they wont cut it and I have owned 140.00 Max Amps and Orion 6400 90c. Are these other 3 I just mentioned @ 55.00 gonna compare to the high dollar ones I had? Anyone know how much the orcas sell for? And like I asked will the shorties make it 6 to 7 min with the Tekin pro4 HD 3500kv ya think?

Im in Houston. Get the IP 7200 from promatchracing.com I would much rather have more than enough than not enough.

I've recently started testing this ROAR approved ViciousTek 6.5A pack and have been pretty impressed so far, only 3 months old, and holds just as much punch as a Turnigy NanoTech or GForce NanoTech:

I've raced at mikes in Dallas and think that the stock setup will be a good starting point, but I would change the diff oils to 7/10/3......
