Question about inserts: (not trying to start "The Great Insert Debate"!!!)
With the added weight of this truck are you finding that stock or inserts such as the AKA reds are breaking down quicker? Should we be exclusively running a firmer insert such as the AKA black to deal better with the mass of this truck? it also seems to me that the Proline V3 "may" fall into the "firmer" category?? FWIW I run on an indoor smooth medium bite track. Thanks |
really happy with the FTW Diamond back flys nice with all vents cut out!!!!

I haven't noticed any more substantial degradation in foams of any brand with this truck. Aka and Proline all seem to hold up fine with their standard foams from my personal experience.

Went to work this weekend. Good thing I got the right tools for the job. SCT410 and a Tekno v4 RC8B. Gotta love seeing the TQ in E-buggy get handed the TQ plaque and a 2nd place plaque at the same time. hahaha
I qualified 4th w/ the buggy and luckily peaked at the right time, I guess. I took the last 2 of 3 A-mains. http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/1985/001ywy.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us BTW... Someone needs to get the plaque guy a spell checker...... |

All,
Just want to share an experience I had. If you have SMC packs or a MMP ESC, keep reading. Otherwise, this post will bore you. So, I recently picked up two brand new 7200mAh SMC packs, and I was having really bad run times, and also some puffing in both brand new packs. Initially I was leaning towards a battery problem as the root-cause. I've sense discovered that the packs are not the problem. They are actually very good. The puffing bugs me a tad, but according to the owner the puffing is normal in the 7200mAh packs because the cells are larger and barely fit into that form factor, thus the standard swelling shows through the case. A smaller capacity pack has room to swell internally, so you never see it. The run time issue was caused by the BETA firmware I was using. If you own a MMP and you're running 4-pole, I highly suggest you avoid any of the BETA firmware. As soon as I switched to the newest non-BETA package, the issue went away. Hope this helps someone. |

What kind of temps are you see on the motor / esc? Just curious not trying to start a debate.
From what I've found with the 4000kv HW the motor doesn't really wakeup until you get up to at least a 15/44 gearing. Are you running on a big track. Are indoor track is 100x60 I ran a 14/44 but had to turn my punch all the way down just to keep the bottom end in check. The HW has insane torque down low. The last time I ran indoor I ran a 15 /44 with my punch turned up to level 7 and it felt better. Speedwise It felt great, i was topping out down the longest straight where I needed to be. I have a Pro4 HD on the way however that I want to try out, and who knows, maybe it will end up in the E-buggy instead.

I wanted to let everyone know about an upcoming sale Amainhobbies.com will be having starting tomorrow May 13th and runs through May 20th. The sale will be as follows for TEKNO kits and parts.
Amainhobbies.com will be discounting kits at 10% and all parts/Tekno conversions are 20% off. The sale will run throughout the Silver Dollar Off-Road Challenge. I will be attending the Silver Dollar Off-Road Challenge and will be racing my TEKNO EB48 and TEKNO SCT410. Feel free to stop by and check out my cars and ask any questions you may have. TEKNO will be coming out with some awesome new items in the near future and most of the parts are interchangable between kits. Now is the time to stock up on parts and kits and save some money in the process. Here is a link to access the sale on Amainhobbies. com- http://www.amainhobbies.com/brand.ph...teering-Blocks See you at the track- Austin Blair

I have not had the chance to test an smc pack. Besides the color, the case looks identical in design to the revtech packs. I have been told that Fantom packs are no longer the a rebrand of the revtech. I have been running revtech batteries for the last 5 months and the packs have been excellent, virtually zero degradation in resistance. My revtech 6900 is sitting at a total of 4 milliohm of resistance, while the new Fantom is 2 milliohm of resistance.
I only hope the Fantom pack lasts as long as the revtechs have. Not sure how the charger is showing it (by cell or pack), but I am thinking pack, and if so (Hyperion charger) my Promatch 7200s show a resistance of 2 millohm. |

Is there a code or something needed, when I got to that link and select anything I don't see anything 20% as far as parts go for the sct410 or EB48?

Just my opinion. But if it were me I would take my money to a brand that doesn't sell packs that puff and consider it normal. |
I knew there was a reason I was waiting! Amain order has been placed...Thanks Tekno!
