I wouldn't give mine up for the world!

I'm now running mine (7200 kv) on a 10t pinion @ 80% throttle EPA and the hottest thing on the truck after running a whole 6000 mah 75C battery IS the battery lol (130F).

Only thing i'm changing to run it in the SCT410 is upgrading to Trinity RevTech 6900 mah 100C batteries to handle the additional amp draw since it's a bit heavier than my Losi. Even my Losi pulls out 4000 mah in a 5-minute heat, and I can feel the voltage drop, so Shorty packs are out of the question with this motor in the SCT410. But man does that motor rip!!!

Nothing but the best for my Tekno! Revtech batteries and motor all the way!

I'm seriously thinking about picking up one of these trucks. I love my SCTE and plan on keeping it regardless but a new SCT to play with is appealing lol. I know every Tekno product I've owned has been great to me and I've got some miles on my SCTE so this Tekno might be what Santa brings me for a late Christmas present.... :-)

Hey Tekno.

I'm curious, so far I've seen your test videos on an indoor track with a few small jumps. Has it been tested yet on a track with a little larger features and air, such as this (I'm the all blue)?

or on MUCH larger stuff, like this for outdoor (I'm somewhere near the back, I had about 2 months of rc racing experience at the time, but watch the yellow/black and pink/white trucks instead)?

I bet they will handle those tracks with ease. The SCT410 is loosely based on their excellent handling 1/8 buggy so my bet is they will eat those tracks for breakfast lol.

I agree they we're working on small track handling for this truck, because the big tracks I think I read that they were running Tekno SC8s!.....:)

That track looks fun.. I but the 1/10 buggy guys hate like, lol.

They generally love it too.

But, I'd love to hear from the Tekno folks about testing the truck for bigger tracks/air. I already have a couple of the aluminum bits (such as the ackerman) that I'll upgrade on it to make it more durable for these sorts of tracks, along with a skid plate. But I'm wondering how much other stuff I'll need for springs/pistons/weight balance/etc compared to stock, which sounds more like it will be setup for indoor technical tracks without tons of air...where things like more front weight are better for better turning.

I've run the EB48 on the larger one above, but short course is bound to be a lot different thanks to parachute and more drastic nose diving (at least with the SCTE) being more common and a larger problem than with 8th scale.

I'm trying to decide what motor I'm going use, like most I have a ton of options in my parts box. I heard Tekin might be coming out with a new motor, any thoughts on that and what kind of a motor you are going to use. I sure wish this wasn't 2s racing, how boring. Now 3s would give a guy a lot more options. If it was 3s I'd be running either a Castle 2400 or 2650, I think I can use 3s on our jumbo outdoor track this summer since we have rather loose rules. But indoors I think I'll pull the Tekin pro 4 4600kv motor out of my SCTE. So what are U guys planning on running????

I'll tell you what I'm running, one of these with a 5mm rotor:nod:, 1800kv with a 2500mah 4s pack:eek:

This is where 4x4 SC needs to be. Running huge 2s packs to compensate for high kv amp drawing motors pushing 6lb trucks around doesn't make a whole lotta sense to me. If the class doesn't eventually go to 4s I'd hope it can at least go 3s. Just my opinion:p

I also wanna try their 1200 kv with a little 6s 1400 pack, lol.

I completely agree. Will that crawler motor turn the rpm's needed in our trucks?

An 1800 on 4s is equivalent 3600 on 2s and the 2300 is 4600. However, because these motors draw so few amps, the voltage drop when you hit the throttle is much smaller. This makes the lower kv motors feel punchier and allows you to gear up without the risk of overheating. We will also be testing the 2300 kv, but I believe the 1800 might end up being the better choice on all but very large tracks.

I should have started my post with the fact I understand voltage/kv. What I'm wondering is will that 1200kv motor hold up with a small 6s. That would be an awesome combo. Talk about efficient. Just not sure if a crawler motor would hold up, although rpm's should be ok (30k rpm on fully charged 6s)

Nope. But I hope all my opponents start running 1200 kv motors on 2s!

Regardless of theory, my truck has more power on 2s than I can use, and I leave 20% of it on the table on purpose. There is no need for 3s, nor can you race with more than 2s most places, so for the vast majority of people buying the SCT410 it's not worth discussing.

When I was running full power on a 11t pinion, my scte would pop a wheelie halfway down a small straight at the track, without touching full throttle. This was with 7K diff oil, which shouldn't even be possible. How much power do you need? SC tires only have a certain amount of traction at the end of the day.

It's not about how much power it's about efficiency. Voltage is king. If you understand 1:1 cars its like having a 600 cubic inch big block (low kv/high voltage/ low amps low heat) or a turbo charged nitrous fed 4 cylinder (high kv/low voltage/lots of amps lots of heat) same power but you can run the big block on 87 octane and smoke the 4 cylinder. Efficiency.
